For real. Where did all of these Roin Thicke stans come from? Every site that I go to call it "Robin Thicke" inspired.

I just don't understand it. lol

Since Robin Thicke is really the only guy singing in this style nowadays is why I think so many people are making the comparisons.

JT should have stuck with just ripping off Princes music. wink

People must have forgot who the orginal white boy that was hot since Jon B in the mainstream was... because it damn sure wasn't Robin. lol I really hate Robin Thicke, I feel like i'm the only black person that hates him. Like I said on KTT this song is decent but it isn't the smash I needed from him. I'm sure the rest of the album will be better.

You know, lol, as mean or shallow as that jab seems to be, that's exactly what Timbaland and Timberlake were after at the time. Having the fucking NPG as his touring band only confirmed it.

It sure brought on a lot of late 00's Prince biting, so I'm sure that's why Justin had to go a different route. He admitted he originally wanted to make a Coldplay-ish album, but Timbaland was like "nah you have an urban audience from Justified, don't switch it on 'em like that" but that's why his FS/LS interludes are more atmospheric.. that's the "Coldplay" vibe.

You are not alone. Robin Thicke's music is so damn light in the ass and soulless. I've heard his hits and it sounds like a white dude singing karoke to backing tracks of Prince and Marvin Gaye. I equally lothe Justin Timberlake. Jon B. was the last cat that sung r&b and was actually SOULFUL and could produce and write great songs for himself. That "Cool Relax" album is a classic.

The original is still making music?

Apparently independent, and subsequently slept on.

His latest:

His last exceptional album was "Stronger Everyday", released on Matthew Knowles imprint but rumor has it it was a neglected project because Matthew's attentions were focused on other commitments.

Justin Timberlake releases new song 'Suit and Tie'

NEW YORK (AP) — Mr. "SexyBack" is back.

Justin Timberlake released his new single, "Suit and Tie," late Sunday night. It features rapper Jay-Z.

The upbeat jam is the 31-year-old's first musical offering since 2006's critically acclaimed "FutureSex/LoveSounds." His third solo album, "The 20/20 Experience," will be out later this year.

In a letter posted on his website, Timberlake said he began recording music in June. He wrote that the "inspiration for this really came out of the blue."

Timberlake co-wrote and co-produced "Suit and Tie" with Timbaland, who produced much of the Grammy-winning "FutureSex/LoveSounds."

The buzz around the pop star's return to music kicked off Friday when he posted a video on his website that showed him walking into a studio, putting on headphones and saying: "I'm ready."

FILE - This May 7, 2012 file photo shows singer-actor Justin Timberlake at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute gala benefit in New York. Timberlake has concentrated almost exclusively on his acting career over the last few years. But on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, he posted a video on his that showed him walking into a studio, putting on headphones and saying: “I'm ready.” He hasn't made an album since 2006's Grammy-winning “FutureSex/LoveSounds.” (AP Photo/Charles Sykes, file)

Justin Timberlake’s ‘Suit & Tie’ Rockets To #1

0ac51b49f2fe9b24cc9eaf14bb267ec9 Justin Timberlakes Suit & Tie Rockets To #1

‘…and like that, a smash hit is born‘.

As if the chart return of his wife Beyonce wasn’t enough to give Jay Z much to celebrate this month, his ‘Suit & Tie’ collaboration with Justin Timberlake has ensured that both he (and his pockets) will be smiling for some time.

For, less than twelve hours after its digital release, the R&B jam has rocketed to #1 in the UK- snatching the top spot away from Will.i.am and Britney Spears‘ ‘Scream & Shout’.

Chart check below…

Itunes UK Monday 14th January 2012 17.42PM. DAVID GRAPE JUICE 1024x312 Justin Timberlakes Suit & Tie Rockets To #1

Storming the charts despite stiff competition from Taylor Swift‘s ‘Trouble’ and Marky Mark tribute actBeauty & A Beat’ singer Justin Bieber, ‘Tie’ kicks its feet up at #1 while holding tight at #2 in the US, just one spot away from claiming the digital crown there too.

The first single to be pulled from his third studio album, The 20/20 Perspective‘, ‘Suit’ also enjoys the #5 spot in France, a #6 position in Australia and more #1 spots in Denmark and Sweden, set to sustain these positions once its supporting video touches down to generate more momentum for his return.

Still haven’t bought it? Do yourself a favor here.

Update: ‘Suit & Tie‘ now holds the #1 spot on iTunes USA.

Congrats to JT

bland and nothing special at all IMO. I don't see why some are so excited about it. The beat sounds fine but it's nothing we haven't heard before and Timberlake's voice was never ear-pleasing to me. disbelief This guy has ALWAYS tried way too hard to be cool. People just love mediocre, I guess.

His voice is not bad. But it's so-so at most. Many times I found him trying too hard too. Example: listen to SexyBack INSTRUMENTAL. It's a hell of a funky-dance groove, but the album version with him singing I could never truly enjoy.

I think he's back ripping off Michael Jackson, as in his Justified days, but now even more clearly. This song is very Off the Wall era. It's a good song, even though, I must say. I guess I should recognize him as a songwriter. Ripping off MJ may not be original, but who would write a song that sounds like Off the wall today? Not many.

His more recent songwriting contributions to other artists like Dance 2night for Madonna, LoveSexMagic for Ciara and Love Dealer for Esmée Denters were all good rnb and I enjoyed all three.

And yes, the Jay-Z rap is ridiculous. Why rappers think they're kind of gods in America? And every critic's magazines and award shows in America seem to agree. Very pathetic. I remember watching a recent clip in which Jay-Z sings a rap over Forever Young, which's chorus Beyoncé sings, and he pathetically yells the whole huge crowd to sing the chorus with his wife, still shuts himself up during all chorus. Which only shows he doesn't have A CLUE of HOW to sing. And, in NY State of mind, Jay-z states that "I'm the new Sinatra". Still, that songs sold millions of downloads, won grammies and everything lol .

You suppose no people who's not black could make music originally done by black people? Can't agree with that.
