Yeah... a week after silence, She has the nerve to do it at the SB press conference? Seriously? I try my best to stay neutral when it comes to artist. But I really do hate her self rigteous, press whoring ass.

Agreed, Beyonce is a beautiful woman, it's a shame she has so much make-up on at times on and that stupid blonde weave, it's time for her to go natural. Since you like Bey and Alicia whats your "era" by them? When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace -Jimi Hendrix

I think you miss the concept when people call her "average looking"
TO ME, average looking means you look like the average person and Ive seen alot of people that look like Beyonce and alot that look better than her.
I guess people do see different things.
So when the media glorifies Beyonces beauty (like its rare) I dont think that accurate.
A rare beauty to me is someone like Elizabeth Taylor.
I dont see how calling her average looking, is saying she is unattractive or ugly. Obviously, she is not a ugly woman but their are more women who are more attractive than her and have the same level of attractiveness and in my opinion have it "naturally" without the makeup and weave.
I think someone like Gabrielle Union looks better than her with and without makeup...
Nobody is not calling Beyonce ugly because she is not ugly, I just think her looks are overrated. There are people out in the street that look the same and look better even celebrities.
Beyonces smile is not horrible but once again I would not say its gorgeous Someone who has a gorgeous smile is Janet.. now her smile is stunning (no I am not saying this because I am a fan, im saying it because its true)..

Totally agree especially about the dark hair --she looks WAAAYYYY better. I've never thought she was ugly or unattractive, I just think her looks are overrated. I think that's part of her appeal: she's attractive but not TOO attractive or unique looking such that she is no longer relatable to potential fans. Some celebs like Vanessa Williams, Elizabeth Taylor, Grace Jones etc. have looks you will not see everyday. I'll also add my bf to that list too... No one ever forgets his face. Beauty is definitely subjective, and from my view, I'd say she's above average, but there's more where that came from. I know that JLo is not the topic of discussion here, but personally I have seen some latina women in her hometown of the Bronx that can blow her out of the water, but she's attractive, though

Beyonce is beautiful with or without make-up. She was a pretty little girl who grew up to be a beautiful woman. I still can't get over the hate that this woman gets when she has done nothing to receive it. IF she was unattractive, she wouldn't be getting ANY of this jealosy/hate. The ironic thing is that most of the haters of this woman wouldn't be saying shit if THEIR favorite celebrity was getting the accolades that Bey is getting. What makes me even sicker is that it is BLACK people who are giving this woman crap, AND Beyonce has never acted anything BUT black.
In case, SOME people have forgetten, it was BLACK people who gave Whitney Houston hell because they didn't think that she sang BLACK enough, danced BLACK enough, etc. It was BLACK people who BOOed Whitney at a BLACK awards show. I have heard many people say that this hurt her more than anything in her life. Yet, here we are again, BLACK people, tearing down another black person. WTF? Beyonce is talented, works her ass off, is attractive, upholds her family and doesn't throw them under the bus, doesn't downgrade other celebrities, etc. Just what the ell has this woman done to deserve such SHIT from her OWN community. I don't give a fuck if you don't like her music. I don't like a lot of entertainers' music, however, I don't just live to tear them down for any little thing. NOW, if Beyonce was an arrogant, no-talent, cruel heifer, MAYBE I/others could have something to bitch about. Again, IMO, all of this "hate" on this woman is just JEALOUSY, pure and simple. Btw, one of the female DJ's in my city actually admitted that she hated on Bey because she is just jealous of her.(She said this in a playful manner, but I believe that is true in a lot of cases).
Let's not do to Beyonce what SOME of us did to WHitney and NOW all of those same people are acting as if they were always Whitney fans and didn't hate on her. I say stop the BULLSHIT!

I say, what BETTER place to do it. She walked out, sang the "Star-Spangled Banner" ACCAPELLA and basically shut the haters the fuck up. Anyone with a brain knows that Bey CAN sing. I give her props for the way that she handled it. FTR, it doesn't matter when/how she answered this thing, some people were going to bitch about it anyway. Damn if she did, and damn if she didn't.

That's what I was thinking. The same shit they gave to Whitney they're giving to Beyonce. Like I said, I think she tries real hard to please (regardless how it comes out) and people still bullshit about it. I'm kinda over this because we know she can sing. I just think it's more of a reflection on others than it is Beyonce when they criticize her or attempt to anyway.

You want to know what I am SICK AND TIRED OF?
I AM SICK OF TIRED of people calling anybody a hater just because they go against the grain of the "unpopular opinion", just because they dare to speak their opinion, just because they express "objective criticism". I think its BEYOND CHILDISH and quite ignorant exactly.
If someone is not: cussing out nobody's momma, calling anybody out their name, wishing death on them or wishing them failure, or making any insulting comments about them personally... then its not warranted for anybody to be labeling someone who expresses their opinion a hater.
YOU NEED TO GROW UP. YOU always act like this anytime someone has an opinion about Beyonce you do not like, IM TIRED OF IT.
WOW... this is the ignorant shit I dont like
So are you arguing that people just criticize Beyonce JUST because she is attractive?????????
Did you EVER STOP to think that maybe... JUST MAYBE people criticized her because
1. Her music is shit 2. She is overrated 3. She steals songwriting credits 4. She steals for other artists and people to get ideas 5. She thinks she is Michael Jackson/ Beatles/Elvis Presly 6. She receives a ton of awards (that are undeserving) 7. She makes outrageously conceited comments 8. She is very vain and conceited 9. She intentionally overexposes herself 10. She never strives to be artistic and creative but instead chases the radio to stay relevant and yet still gets praised for making mediocre lack luster music
I think their are ALOT of reasons why someone might not care for her or make have some criticism and I think its ignorant and generic to automatically suggest that they have certain views because of how she looks.
On the looks issue: I never said that she was unattractive...... but I did say that I have seen many women who look like her, who are more attractive than her and that her looks are overrated, THATS MY OPINION. If you disagree, than deal with it but I think its childish to call me a hater when I presented rational reasoning behind my opinion.
Beyonce doesnt even consider her self as black The heffa thinks she is Creole... (Creole is not even a race) and I have heard her numerous of times insist that out her mouth before you go ranting why you hate how black people criticize her
First off, Dont bring up Whitney into this conversation, PLEASE Because Beyonce did not make the same impact musically or touched people the same way.
Also, why does it have to be about BLACK people or a BLACK ISSUE? I am just giving MY OPINION. So why are you generalizing an entire race? Ive heard alot of people of many other races that have said the same thing about Beyonce and find her to be very overrated. In fact, some are much more insulting and quite cruel especially the comments Ive read over the internet.
Beyonce is very arrogant and she is very self centered. I also thought it was obnoxious how she handled the miming controversy. If she could sing for the press conference, why couldnt she sing for the President? and then afterward she said "any questions"
If Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Aretha Franklin did not get a pass for miming, WHY SHOULD BEYONCE? That all comes within the territory of being a entertainer. She ISNT PERFECT or so ABOVE criticism.
Beyonce does not get bashed, publicly ridiculed, or criticized daily like our favorite singer was like your implying in this post
And if your tired of people giving their objective critiques on her, than I suggest you complain to the orgers that love making threads on her knowing she is not a favorable singer here.

Look STAN...
Don't get high and mighty on me, defending your showboating fallen idol. She could've went out the next day of the inauguration, gave a statement and apologized. She waited a week, because her PR crew was too busy trying to do damage control. Or even worst... profiting from all the hype, which she probably wanted. There is no shame in lip syncing these days during a tour. But THERE is shame, when you do it at a Presidential Inauguration! She made a self serving and calculated decision, cause she was intimidated. If you can't handle the pressure, don't take the job. Everybody knows she can sing, it was the principle on singing along with a vocal track at a PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION. Thats just as bad as Lance Armstrong doping to win the Tour De France...
Then to top it all off she used the SB press conference to showboat. Because she's attention whore. Always has been since her daddy mapped out her future, and pulled strings for her.
Mjscarousal is right. I had no problems with Bey when she was in Destiny's Child... i met her at the hit factory, in New York before it closed, when she was a sweet pimple faced girl. Today she's different. She let the industry and a sea of yes men currupt her. she IS conceited. She IS a Songwriting credit stealer... she DOES intentionally overexpose herself. I.E. she's become yet another industry puppet
Who'll rise and fall like the morning star.

Mjscarousal you hit the nail on the head! And I agree with everything you posted but especially the bolded part. Some people just dont get it. She shouldnt receive any criticism because she works hard? SO WHAT? Like she's the only hard working entertainer in the bizness? She isnt. The main reason she gets a lot the criticism or "hate" is because she is overexposed, overrated, comes across as phoney, vain, conceited and yet is shoved down the collective public's throat as a brilliant artist and the female Michael Jackson of our time. She's a legend in her own mind and she's got her PR team working overtime trying to convince the world that she is the legend she believes she is. But I'm not buying it and so arent a lot of other people.
When you try to shove something down people's throat and FORCE them to LOVE IT, force them to buy into it, then there is bound to be backlash because people do not want to be force-fed a product. They want to choose who they think is worthy for themselves. Plus familiarity breeds contempt but its the absence that makes the heart grow fonder The more people see you, the less they like you. If you go away for a while, stop showing your face every day, then they will welcome your return after you have been gone awhile. The Beyonce backlash reminds me of the backlash Mariah Carey received in the late 90s. She too was overexposed and accused of being overrated for a while and people were getting real tired of her. I remember reading a lot of anti-Mariah Carey comments online and they were brutal! Same thing with Britney Spears in the early 2000s. So Beyonce isnt any different and she isnt receiving any more or less criticism than other artists before her. But this anti sentiment is what happens when you are overexposed and overrated. The backlash is an inevitability. Its not hate, its just people being tired of having to see you all the time after you have worn out your welcome.

Yeah, that would have been better and I bet that she wishes she had. However, that still does not change my opinion about the "hate" that she receives. However, IF she did take a break and came back, I wonder if the "hate" would still be there? People are saying that they don't like her or "hate" her because she is overexposed. Maybe. Vain or conceited? I haven't seen that. Don't like her music? Personal opinion. I have no problem with that. The ironic thing is that I am defending Beyonce because I KNOW that it is NOT the popular thing to do. FTR, I LIKE being on that OPPOSITE side. I like not being on the "Hate-On" Beyonce bandwagon. Btw, If my defense of Bey fires the "bandwagoners" up, I say Yay!!!!
