I have a blu ray player but I will probably get the regular dvds. I just dont see much of a difference in picture quality in blu ray when it comes to animation. Is there really a difference? confuse Or will the audio in the Blu ray dvds for this set be better than the standard ones?

Relevant question. But I have seen some animation DVDs (JEM) played on a Blu Ray and it looked like a slushy youtube with blurry lines. I think some how it shows you TOO MUCH. lol

I picked this up today. I watched a little bit and the picture is clear, but I have an old tube TV.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

In the credits, one of the voice actors is named Edmund Silvers. smile That's a funny coincidence.

Not really, since the J5 themselves were unable to take part in the cartoon, despite it saying, "Voices of The Jackson 5". Edmund did the voice of Marlon.

I don't think it's the same person the same person though, since it's spelled "Silvers", not "Sylvers". If it is, then the show has a typo. There's several James Browns, one is a sportscaster. There is a George Michael that was a sportscaster too, and a Michael Jackson that's a beer critic. There's basketball players named Jermaine Jackson & Jesse Johnson.

Is MJ tired yet of his corpse getting beaten for the last buck?

Meanwhile, I will wonder why Apple hasn't remastered/released the Beatles cartoon on DVD.

Probably to avoid being accused of violating John and George's corpses by the likes of you!

I don't think the Beatles had anything to do with the cartoon, it was just pulp produced with their likenesses. I'd be surprised if that stuff ever comes out.

Maybe those versions are in mono, which TV shows tended to be during that time. I have some TV show theme compilations and some of the songs came from the actual programs and were mono. The master tapes were lost, so that was the only source.

Do you have the Blu ray version? If so how is the picture quality? I bought the standard version but I'm quite satisfied with the picture and audio quality even though it isnt Blu ray. That Youtube video you posted--gotta say I like the menu of the bootleg J5 cartoon dvd better than the menu of the official release. It looks cooler and it uses J5 music (the theme song). I dont know why but the music for the menu on the official release has some generic music playing confused Was it copyright issues the reason for that? Just seems off to have bland, generic music on the menu instead of one of the J5 songs or even an audio clip from one of the episodes.

I don't have a Blu Ray player, so I got just the DVDs.
