Your Top 10 albums of 2012

Ok, folk...

It's been eons since I've bought new music. Which 10 albums should I be adding to my library by end of year?

We had a thread about this but here's mine's:

Blunderbuss by Jack White

Radio Music Society by Esperanza Spaulding

Glows Then Melts by Skeleton Lipstick

III by Crystal Castles

Floral Shoppe by Macintosh Plus

Mediafire Kingdom by Contact Lens

Channel ORANGE by Frank Ocean

Fast & Curious by Sy Smith

Boys & Girls by Alabama Shakes

Ice in Tha Veins by Contact Lens

----

Since these are my personal favorites, I don't know if I could recommend them to you since you're basing this off your own personal opinions...

I dont think i can come up with 10 mainly because in years past i look at the "Best" and they really have to be albums that i am constantly playing, and there are not even 10 this year, not saying that it was an awful year or even bad just that there were alot that i LIKED to alot that i cant say BEST so these few are BEST to me.....and likes are after

Songs for the End of the World- Rick Springfield this record is clearly the best to me as it gets run everyday basically, he even got tons of critical praise for this album and his marketing of this and a film all while being INDIE (i mean really indie) and for a 63year old to come out with new relevant music and debut in the top 40, is kind of unique.

Fanatic- Heart this album got alot of praise but had no chart life at all, possibly their best album in two plus decades i think it will get more push when the Hall of Fame and Kennedy Honors air, great rock record

Beautful Friction -The FIXX this came out of nowhere, but they kicked ass on this return album, it got some good press and got them back on a few tv shows for NEW MUSIC not old!

Everything Changes- Julian Lennon this is a tricky one, its an amazing album, but still has yet to get a USA release, Julian has gone back and added some new tracks, and a special DVD along with it and that will come out on his label in the USA early 2013, his first USA release in 15 years.

KISS- Mya Love this record, this was a project Mya needed to do, its on her label, but it was really for her loyals, it was on her site, specially autogrpahed to buyers of the cd and also on digital sites, has some of her best songs incorporated alot of styles for her, more pop and dance too

A different kind of Truth- Van Halen possibly their best album ever to me at least, just all out Rock n Roll no thought of singles and airplay, just a fun ROCK record.

Little Broken Hearts- Norah Jones this lady continues to amaze me on everything she can do, loving her changes, and every genre she jumps into and all the associated artists she brings out to the front.

Honorable LIKES: Kiss, Pet Shop Boys, Girls ALoud (though not all new), The Saturdays, Morten Harket (lead a-ha member solo), Aerosmith (just too many tracks), Sondre Lerche, Dave Matthews, Andy Allo, Appartjik

2. Pet Shop Boys - Elysium (Although there are some fillers, the best is some of their best)

1. Channel Orange - Frank Ocean (Overated as hell but still enjoyable)

I have only Top 5

1. Jack White - Blunderbuss
2. Frank Ocean - channel ORANGE
3. Fiona Apple - The Idler Wheel
4. Mumford & Sons - Babel
5. Muse - The 2nd Law
---------------
Honorable Mention - Bad 25

there were some others that I liked after the first few listens, but does not stand the test of time. For example, MDNA (decent pop album as a whole, though it contains some of the worst songs of the year, but there are some very good songs, too) was released in late March, early April - the last time I listened to this album (except possibly time I heard it at a concert in August), or an album Pink, tired after one week, there have been other instances when you listen to the album, and it seems to be fairly decent, but you just quickly loses interest in it.

Whatever creep! slam

You clearly only listened to music that I would approve of through out the year as a subtle tribute to my superior taste. I guess I should be flattered shrug
