I got a late start last year, and didn't attend as many shows due to "money issues"...
I already have 3 lined up for 2013, starting with the Tribute to Prince at Carnegie Hall, NYC on March 7th.

- I can't remember dates, but I can remember the order:
1. Lenny Kravitz
2. New Edition
3. The Wailers (mini, free concert at njpac)
4. Big Daddy Kane (mini, free concert at njpac)
5. Rakim (mini, free concert at njpac)
6. James Moody Jazz Fest (George Benson, David Sanborn, Mahattan Transfer and some others)
7. George Clinton/P-Funk with Morris Day and The Time
I think I'm starting this year with an old-school hip-hop concert in A.C....if there are tix still available.

Looks like you live in my neck of the woods!
I had to work most Thursday nights this past summer, but I heard that the free concerts were great! My friend said that some guys I went to high school with, got on stage with Morris Day during "The Bird"…

- Yep, I'm a Jersey Girl!
The free concerts were excellent this year! A lot better than previous years - imo. I just remembered I went to "Salsa Night" at NJPAC also. I can't name the artists that performed, but they were awesome.
There were quite a few people on stage with Morris doing "The Bird"!!! I was in the side balcony, so I wasn't one of them unfortunately! But I had a good time anyway!

- The band was tight and GC still has a very youthful exuberance about him, but the entire time I couldn't help but wish I had seen them in their hey day. But, I enjoyed myself. I would see them again. -

I thought fantastic! Philip Bailey still hits a mean high note.... Of course, my father who saw them several times back during their peak was unimpressed when I gave him a recap, but enjoyed myself If you will, so will I

The Who?... VERY cool i'd love to see them together, i hope they can do something in the uk before it's too late! pete's hearing is shot to bits, it's a big problem for them, but the coolest thing ever was seeing roger daltry perform in a bar local to me.. it was incredible, i nearly hadn't gone, it was totally unexpected. Pete townshend's brother was doing a gig, he plays guitar also.. i didn't know or really care it was during the summer, tiny seaside town, in a shithole bar!..
I saw lianne la havas in April, gary numan in june & ed sheeran in oct, all in brighton uk.
saw jeff wayne with his war of the worlds 'new generation' in dec, does that count? it was very good actually

Not a very eventful year concert-wise for me, but I enjoyed the shows:
Steve Martin
Crosby, Stills & Nash
Huey Lewis and the News
All seen at Red Butte Gardens in SLC, UT over the summer. I'm firmly planted in denial

Thankfully, you didn't copy me here too like you did in the 2012 albums thread. Please stay in your city where the cool bands don't play.

The who perfomed quadrophenia and it was great. BUT idk wen they went into the encore and played their greatest hits it just didn't fit. Besides the song they ended on which was something about tea totally didn't fit as an ending song.

Go ahead and gloat! But if I go to a show in your city in the future, and see you lurking in the shadows like the master creeper you are striving to be, you better watch your back If you will, so will I
