Jeremy Jordan ~ Wanna Girl

I used to see this video all the time. I think this was his 2nd single after The Right Kind Of Love.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Yes, this is 20 years old! I used to love the song, but the memory is not a happy one as it came out at a Not Happy time of my life.

Jordan moved over to acting; the last thing I saw him in was "Never Been Kissed", Drew Barrymore film. But he's done other things since, I'm sure. I'm really surprised the music thing didn't jump off, because what little I heard I liked. Bought the re-mix CD of "The Right Kinda of Love" for a dollar at Virgins Record store years ago. I wouldn't mind having the CD to this song came from. I"m curious to know what it sounds like.

Good post Mickey, as always. cool

I have his album. Some of the songs were produced by Robbie Nevil & Al B. Sure!/Kyle West. It's like early 90's new jack pop.

What's the name of the album? Thanks. I'm sure its out of print.

You're welcome. The Right Kind Of Love was originally on the 90210 soundtrack. It's pretty good too. It has other songs by Shanice Wilson, a Chaka Khan/Michael McDonald duet, Cathy Dennis, Jody Watley, Color Me Badd, Paula Abdul, and others.

Jordan's alright. That's a lukewarm response isn't? lol

He's that type of singer, given the right material, he can carry a song. Having just finished listening to his one and only album, material wise it's a hit and miss. I definitely hear Al. B Sure's production calling card, I've never been impressed with anything Sure has done. A couple of cuts that are keepers, it would've helped if they changed up the production a bit, some of the songs sound alike. Still, I'm surprised Jordan didn't record a sophomore album.

I seem to remember reading maybe on another board or somewhere else that a follow up was not recorded due to "personal" issues. Still, it's odd that he seemingly never blew up

Hmm.. Jordans from Hammond IN., city that between Gary and Chicago. You would've thought with 90210 connection, it would've given his music a career a boost. I'll have to checkout the soundtrack of the show too.

Maybe he was lumped with Joey Lawrence who had a song out about the same time. His image seems targeted to the Tiger Beat crowd. There was also the popularity of Color Me Badd & Boyz II Men.

Apparently, he's been doing Broadway also. I saw him on last year's Tony Awards. He was nominated for his performance in Newsies.

That's a totally different Jeremy Jordan. It's a popular name. There's a pornstar with the name too.

Here's one of a few videos Jeremy [or his people] posted to Youtube last year.

Here's Jeremy hosting some sketch comedy show back in 2010.

I never knew what happened to Jeremy, nor thought about it. He just made a record I bought, I've never even read a magazine article about him. lol
