And for the record, I knew immediately that Flo Rida sampled the Brenda Russell song. But what I did NOT know was that Flo Rida got the Brenda Russell sample from Bingo Players.

Love the original by Brenda and the dance version from Bingo Players. Have not heard Flo Rida's sample.

One of my favorites, by this legendary songwriter. I can't stand her voice otherwise though.

Love this song too...I know a lot of people under 25 who are just getting into this song now because of Flo Rida's "I Cry" which samples a dance song that samples this song

I've always thought she fell short vocally until I listened to "God Bless You", I've reconsidered my opinion eversince.

Her singing is an aquired taste, but she really compensated that with her output.
