Marvin Gaye: What's Going on The Band (self-titled) Curtis Mayfield: Curtis James Brown: The Payback Kate Bush: Hounds of Love The Rolling Stones: Sticky Fingers Bob Dylan:all of 'em! Ha, just kidding, but Bob can't be pinned down on one album. Blonde on Blonde comes close, but then you'd miss his political songs, his religious songs, his love songs...

I don `t think the Beatles really have the signature album. but I agree with most of the albums that you have chosen

Musically you can't really call it a signature album, but the album cover is probably the most well known Beatles picture so when you add that to the music itself, I think you get their signature album

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I think, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is also an obvious candidate

Sgt. Pepper is often called "the greatest album of all time". You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
