I couldn't see the genre being called gaycore or homocore so queercore was appropriate. Cock rock was already taken. Queer has a better touch to it.

Not to me it doesn't. Gaycore also sounds too PC. Also there's just as many bisexual punk rockers in queercore so calling it gaycore still wouldn't have made sense.

I was going to post Pansy Division's "Beercan Boy" but you tube doesn't seem to have it.

Pansy Division is awesome, and their latest album from a couple years ago That's So Gay might be their best album ever. Love seeing them live, wish they'd play here more. Their best show was in an actual gay bar in Silverlake.

I also played a couple gigs with Tribe 8, they were pretty good. One of the guys I play with is part of that scene, used to be in both Glue and Extra Fancy, and still plays with Glen Meadmore.

Team Dresch were interesting, they were offerring self-defense classes for girls as their opening act. The club had one unisex bathroom, and when I offerred to the guitarist that she should go ahead of me, she looked unsure whether to accept - was I being patronizing?

I finally said "look if you come see my band here and I need to go to the bathroom right before my set and you're in front of me, you can let me go ahead of you." She accepted that.

One of the defense maneuvers was used on a "troll guy" that was hitting on their drummer going "Man you guys really rock, you hit really hard" who got flipped ass over elbow onto the floor.

I liked them but I didn't go up to tell them so afterward.
