Chaka Khan will be recognized for her extraordinary contributions to music as part of the 2013 BET Honors special, airing on the network February 11.

Halle Berry and three-time WNBA MVP Lisa Leslie are also among those being awarded for their outstanding achievements during the ceremony, which will be filmed January 12 in Washington D.C.

Last year's honorees included Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey and Spike Lee. Among those who paid tribute to them were Patti LaBelle, Kelly Rowland and Raekwon.

Halle, really? that's gonna be drama.

I guess they figured since the Rock Hall wouldn't honor her and Rufus they'd give them a shot. I like.

Wait, what!! Chaka isn't in the R&R Hall of Fame??

No, but the funny thing is when she was nominated last year, she said she thought she had already been inducted.

She deserves it. Great artist.
I must say though, 60 years old a dressing like a hoochie, oh my!

Take that up with the committee and the inductees who pick the people. It's all politics.

She inherited it from her first husband.

Nevermind, the question was answered. Yeah she got it from her first husband, who was half Indian I think.

R&R HOF is a complete joke and they have as much credibility as award shows (none ). It's all BS. I'm just glad Chaka is being honored on some kind of big stage She more than deserves it.
