Love this song. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

I only like the remixed version released in Europe. I had absolutely no idea the song even sounded like the original US mix until the 2000 Greatest Hits was released where the compilers accidentally used it on the European release of that album. Even on the original IYBT album the remix was used as the album track.

My 2nd favorite Whitney album! forget the peeps who hate on this album & song. Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

This album is her best, much best than ber debut -in which the only good songs are 'saving all my love for you' , 'how will i know' and 'you give me good love'

Loved this song from the first time I heard it. I'm not really a fan of the remixes though.

I'm not a big fan of the album (Perfer everything else released from 1985-1997) but this song is the jam!

So what else is good on that album? Fair enough - 'the greatest love of all' is a solid version, but everything else is pure cheese, album tracks are pure fillers and are forgettable. When you have Jermaine Jackson involved what do you expect?
I'm your baby tonight has quality tracks:
- title track - my name is not susan - all the man i need - i belong to you - anymore - lover for life - miracle

I'm with u, mancabdriver. I didn't really like her first 2 albums (as albums). They were too pop for my taste. Sure, she had great songs and vocal performances, but I LOVED this album from start to finish. [Edited 12/21/12 9:30am] **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Can you believe people referred to this album as a "flop" at the time? **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

This was the first album that she had a big hit on urban radio, and it didn't crack the hot 100 (which was "My Name Is Not Susan." **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Oh Lord have mercy, I remember when this one came out. This was right after she got booed at the "Soul Train Music Awards" by people who thought she was too "white". I remember I had a white coworker when this song came out and he loved her music but he hated this one and he actually said to me...."I don't like it, she sounds too black on this one". Well, I just simply told him..."No she doesn't because I hate this song just like all her other songs". Andy is a four letter word.

What's funny is that that's the name of the station around where I live that plays the crappiest music out right now

I don't know... I agree with those tracks and that the Jermaine stuff on the debut is cheese, but I still think the debut is a solid effort altogether, at the moment I can't really choose between the two albums.
On topic though, one of her best tracks, such a powerful melody and fantastic vocals!

Oh, don't get me wrong - I love I'm Your Baby Tonight. In particular, "Lover for Life" is one of the strongest album tracks in Whitney's career. But the debut is a pure classic. "Greatest Love of All" isn't merely "a solid version," it's THE version as far as I'm concerned. "All at Once" is one of my most-loved Whitney songs and better than anything on IYBT. "Thinking About You" is a solid track from Kashif, certainly not filler IMO. As for Jermaine, well, he never sounded better than when he was singing with Whitney. Throughout her career, she always showed the restraint and control necessary to confidently sing with inferior singers without needlessly overshadowing them (see Jermaine, Mariah, Enrique)... she was a lot like Marvin Gaye in that respect. I dont listen to the radio religiously but when Im in my car I listen to 102 102.3 over here is dedicated to the oldies but goodies and adult R&B although they occassionaly play a pop tart here and are repetitive sometimes but its all gravy

That's still my jam! I was in Kashif mode earlier this year and was listening to everything he produced in the 80s.
I love the extened mix of "Thinking About You" too.

this album was a calculated attempt to re-establish Whitney with the R&B world.People were complaining that she "went pop" with the previous albums.

Great song by The Voice. All her songs are classics. Haters can stay mad.

o gosh, when i was 10, this song was THE END. What else could I want from a song? I used to pray the video would come on.
I still think it's pretty retro awesome.

When I bought the vinyl I realized the remix was there insted of the orininal version. Was the Original version ever released on (the album) vinyl version?

I remember when this song first came out. Whitney made the comment that her mom wasn't too wild about this song. I think it was the song title itself that Whitney's mom disliked. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Speaking of the album itself, the track "I Belong To You" is on the deluxe edition of the new compilation so I've got a newfound appreciation to it, it's such a great song!

By far her greatest video of all time came from this (equally great) song.
I remember trying to sing that "you got a way of magic" part and struggling with it. She had that staccato vocal rhythm down pat on that song, man...
Loved how she went from Marlene Dietrich to Diana Ross (and the Supremes) to Audrey Hepburn and back to herself... The video was her own tribute to the "classy ladies of the past"...

Yeah they said she was "too pop" in the beginning and then got "too R&B". What the hell should she be?
