I see Sade influencing the likes of, say, Dido -- who I don't recall *ever* rocking out...
And, I dig me some Helen. Jussayin'...

Judas Priest & Kiss should definitely be in there. Kiss only has a few good songs, but I think the overall package should count for something. They pulled off the costumes and make-up without being corny, that's hard to do. If it's a Hall of FAME, they should definitely be in there.
As for Sade & Erykah, I think Ms. Badu should definitely be in there. She and D'Angelo, along with their producers and marketers, basically created a new genre. That's worth a lot in my book. And she's had some great albums & songs and is great in concert.
I love Sade's music, but she's not really groundbreaking. I only see her getting in if the hall wants to diversify a bit by adding more non-U.S. artists (sure, the she & the band are basically British, but she's born in Nigeria so that's unusual for the hall and might be worth something in terms of recognizing the worldwide impact of rock & roll).

For whatever reason, maybe because heavy metal is viewed as juvenile music, very few heavy metal acts have made it in. Kind of silly when you consider how popular the genre was in the seventies/eighties.

Badu - maybe.
Sade - No. Body of work is too small, IMO.

Shouldn't that be the other way around? "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"
