how come, ms trina?

A successful music career verse having contributed to the idiom or totally 2 different things... I don't think either woman has done so.

I get you, but I think both are so unique, esp Erykah.

How has Sade, not contributed? Her debut, was one of the first of that era, to have that sound. (especially, by a female).

(MHO) Sade bores the shit out of me, her whole discography sounds like she took downers. What sound? neutral

I'm not sure that being unique is a criteria. If that's the case, then Moondog and Sun Ra or even Tiny Tim would be nominated.

ug, the whole concept of the hall of fame is asexual cerebral safe limp dick bullshit.

A MUSEUM? 25 years later!!??!?! Is the last place these people should want their music heard.

Some elitist, "respectable", Jann Wenner-ed, Rolling Stone'd, ugly assed building in the middle of CLEVELAND!?!?!?

Pass.

I hope they ignore Sade and Erykah, and both ladies share a joint and laugh their asses off over the whole thing.

Although the idea of Paul Shaffer leading a rendition of Turn Me Away (Get Munny) sounds like a funny way to spend 5 minutes.

Her being the cause of your bordom and she not making a contribution to music, are two different things. I cannot stand the music that Madonna has been putting out of late, but I will acknowlege the contributions, that she's made to music. I would consider Sade, to be a modern day, "torch song" singer. Before she came along, there were very few in the mainstream, who did what she did.

You not what Sade did? The same thing Anita Baker did, recorded the same song over and over again. If you are boring, nobodies saying anything about you in the same breath as being a contributor to anything.

Seriously. I'll admit, I'm picky as hell when it comes to music, musicians, and singers but damn less get really about the "music" Sade has recorded; she's made a career out of singing motone. hrmph She has about as much "sole" as one on a shoe.

Seriouslly? Have either of these women "had a significant impact on the evolution, development and perpetuation of rock and roll?" I don't think so. Are they talented? Sure. But no serious impact on R n R, in my opinion.

Exactly nod Some artists find a comfortable style and never really evolve from it.They make the song songs over and over.

I have no idea. I'm just quoting what they say it takes to get nominated. I don't even know who more than half the inductees even are. Keep in mind, they have different categories. Performers, non performers, early influences, and award for musical excellence (like producers).
