Frank ocean's father suing him for 1 million dollars.

Long-lost loved ones—or not-so loved ones—always seem to turn back up once someone's made it big, don't they? In June, weeks before releasing his soon-to-be hugely celebrated channel ORANGE, Frank Ocean tweeted, "just found out my absent father's been cyberstalking me, hi dad."

Now, according to NME, things have gone a little further. "Father wanna sue me for a million. Like I owe him back child support. Weak individual bought me a swiss knife at 6yrs old then dipped on me," Ocean reportedly wrote, deleting the tweet shortly after. Another tweet still on Ocean's account reads, "I got his DNA though, maybe I inherited some of his karma too."

Talk about a drag. One second you're leading the Grammy nominees with hat-tips for Album of the Year and Best New Artist, the next you've got your estranged father somehow trying to wring money out of you. Way to take a page out of Eminem's mom's book, Papa Ocean.

We're guessing it won't dampen Frank's creative spirit, though. The guy's already talking about writing novels and building arenas. Nothing can stop him; even greedy non-parents. neutral

Frank Ocean’s father threatens to sue him for $1 million

What do you say to a son whose father is the one turning his moment of triumph into one of bitterness and pain? That’s ultimately what many of us are wondering as news has spread that music’s man of the moment, Frank Ocean, has reportedly been threatened with a lawsuit by his father.

In June, Ocean revealed to the world that his absentee father was keeping track of his life and rising career. “just found out my absent father’s been cyberstalking me, hi dad,” tweeted Ocean. But early Wednesday morning, Dec. 19, Ocean revealed to his fans the shocking news that his father was now threatening to sue him.

Ocean deleted the pained tweet shortly afterwards, but he left another reflective tweet about his troubling situation.

“I got his DNA though, maybe I inherited some of his karma too,” he tweeted.

Luckily for Ocean, his Odd Future brother, Tyler, The Creator, quickly offered him some comforting words.

“PLAY HIM INGLORIOUS AND TELL HIM I SAID HE’S A F WORD,” Tyler wrote to Ocean.

Although Ocean appreciated the support, he did tell his OF bandmate to edit out the offensive gay slur.

“I don’t like that word,” replied Ocean.

It’s a sad note to end the year on, as the singer enjoyed a year full of personal and career highs. Aside from being praised for his bravery in admitting that he’s fallen in love with a man, Ocean also received universal acclaim for his debut album, Channel Orange, which recently garnered him six Grammy nominations, including Album of the Year and Best New Artist.

However, we’re sure that Ocean will find a way to overcome this hurdle and focus on his new plans to design arenas and write novels. Unfortunately, Ocean isn’t the only one with family issues. Check out some other strained family relationships below. –nicholas robinson

Unless he was a part of the creative process there is ZERO merit 2 this case.

But why? What would be the grounds for legal action that warranted money? "Like I owe him back child support." Anyone here familiar with how Frank speaks of his father in his songs?

My grandaddy was a player, pretty boy in a pair of gators

See I met him later on, think it was 1991

The only dad I'd ever know, but pretty soon he'd be gone too
