Ready For The World Ruff N' Ready

What do you guys think of this album? I guess this was the beginning of the end for these guys huh? I've had this for a while but I'm thinking of giving it a second chance? Do you think this album is weak? I like how fast the faster songs are. Very upbeat.

My Girly is the jam! You might be into the album. The only thing is it goes into slow jam mode towards the end. The faster songs sound pretty funky.

Overall, I think it's a solid project, although more New Jack less Mpls Sound. Wasn't a big fan of "Cowboy" and "Late Saturday Night" was transformed into "It's All Up To You" (w/Willie Triplett singing Lead). There's a REASON Melvin Riley Jr. is the Lead Singer........................

cool

I thought the album was cool.....biggrin biggrin

I was anticipating their follow up from 1986

I was a junior when Ruff N Ready came out in 88

My favorite song was this one........

I didn't really care for it. From what i can remember i liked Shame

I love the first two albums, but I was disappointed with Ruff N' Ready."Gently" is a nice slow jam, though.

I was a hug RFTW fan....but I must admit. Their music seems a little dated. Hard to listen to some of that stuff now. Great group for the 80's! I definitely think Ruff and Ready was over looked.

I remember trying to make myself like the song "My Girly",but it didn't work lol It's just a weak song.

Imo,their best song is "Digital Display" from the first album headbang that song still packs a punch.
