If you own or definitely enjoy "Rock It" by Herbie Hancock...

You'd probably be interested in the music I discovered when I researched the other musicians and other participants that contributed to his "Futureshock" album.

In my continuous quest for solid quality electronic funk\electrofunk from the middle 1980s that is available on CD and/or MP3 format,I recently researched the participants on "Futureshock" LP by Herbie Hancock and similar LPs from that period.
I know I learned about Bill Laswell from that research and either directly or indirectly I learned about Bernie Worrell.

Searches on Google, Discogs, Itunes, and Bernie Worrell's website led to the LPs and songs that are listed below.

Most of the music below is presently available for purchase in CD and/or MP3 format.

While Bernard Wright did have a top 40 R&B chart hit with "Funky Beat", at least in the U.S.most of the music below is properly described as quality underground r&b electronic funk that here and there overlaps the dub or african pop music categories. Most of it compares and competes very favorably to the "Futureshock" LP and musical style of that LP.
