Don't dig Wham, but like most GM solo stuff. Especially this tune and album Older. Was just jamming this last weekend.

How can you not like the Motown-throwback vibe of Wham?
I think Michael is a genius pop craftsman.
Those songs are so perfect.

Take away Wake Me Up and you got a damn near perfect collection of Wham songs man.

I can't stomach that song to this day.

What makes it worse is that whenever you mention Wham to anybody, all they mention is Wake Me Up or Careless Whisper.

You know how it is. People especially in the US are fickle with groups. Wham wasn't even a boy band in the classic sense. They just got that stupid tag due to Wake Me Up...it sowed the seeds for George's discontent with being looked at as a pop tart.

It's a cute/ fun/chessy song but I don't listen to it. Everything She Wants is my song.

ESW is one of those epic songs... between that, Blue and Nothing Looks the Same, ESW is one of my top 5 Wham songs.

Speaking of the Older album before we go too deep off topic, I always loved this cut:

Fastlove is a great track, and GM has many more. ESW is indeed a classic Wham! tune... RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

Great song, one of his best!

I've always been a fan of Georgios. This song is one of his best, most definitely. Something I still can jam to this very day. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I'm with you.
My favorite Wham! songs are definitely "A Different Corner," "Everything She Wants," and "Freedom."
As for "Fastlove," it's a stone cold classic. I loved it from the first moment I heard it. It reminds me of college, which is never a bad thing.
Another of my favorites from Older is "The Strangest Thing." Unlike the case with "Star People," I greatly prefer the original version over the '97 remix:

I don't hate Wake Me Up, there's much worse stuff on the first Wham! album. The vocals are some of George's best. Cheesy, catchy, and overplayed, not awful to me. Everything She Wants is also one of my favorite songs ever. Killer from beginning to end. BTW Careless Whisper and A Different Corner are both considered George solo songs.

Cowboys and Angels hinted at the jazz stuff that was on Older. I dig Heal the Pain but eh...

I know that but they're still Wham-era joints because Wham was still together when he put them out.

I've always liked Wake Me Up. It's one of my all time favorite songs. I've never cared that much for Heartbeat though. I don't totally dislike it, but don't have to hear it either. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Cowboys And Angels had potential, but it never really lived up to it for me. The song goes on way too long and doesn't keep me interested through the whole thing.

It kept me interested. I love long songs like that... it's like watching a short film shot in some European city under a dark sky with two lovers.

I usually like long songs like it too. But for some reason Cowboys And Angels has never clicked with me
