Influenced Prince :)

Followed him around like a star struck fan when he was a teenager according to Bebe Buelle.

It was in a mojo interview on Todd.
It gets so salty baby (bittersweet by Lewis Taylor)

Great tune.

But that's just Laura Nyro in a man's body!

Were they ever seen at the same place at the same time?

Finally got my first Rundgren album (this one) earlier this year.

Torch Song is not my favorite track from the album, but it has some stiff competition. Something/Anything was a bit of a revelation for me. It's really nice to discover someone "new" who is so freaking talented.

Coincidentally, I just bought Eli and the 13th Confession recently. I did not know until later that Rundgren said he changed his style of writing after discovering Laura Nyro.

Another huge discovery for me.

lol for Real!!

Seriously, it's interesting that the one Laura Nyro album that Todd Rundgren did work on, 'Mother's Spiritual', is the one he didn't like...that's actually my favorite of her albums! Oh, well....

Runt album there's a medley called ' baby lets swing' lyrics

'Oh Laura the first time I saw you was in LA' the song is about her.

Todd acknowledged she was a big influence.

Todd said he decided to sing after listening to Stevie Wonder.

Daryl and Todd call each other Marvin as they both love Marvin Gaye.

BTW, Lewis Taylor's song "Leader of The Band" sounds (to me) like the Ultimate Rundgren tribute! I think Todd himself would be proud of that one! 'Course Lewis, is/(was?) also a Marvin fan...

Well as you know Lewis is a big Todd fan.

He put I saw the light on his MySpace once then took it off.
