Jagger looked good but the band was kind of lame. Two songs and one is You Got Me Rockin'?? Sluggish, forgetting chord changes to a song they've played at every show for forty years. That was an anti-advertisement for their big tour if you ask me.

Got to defend Kanye a bit here. It was quite clearly an audience who came to see the procession of aging rockers, it woudn't have mattered if he'd had a full band they still wouldn't have bought into it. Actually I take that back, if it'd been the E Street Band perhaps some might have raised a smile!

This was kind of off putting. I mean, weren't Haiti and the Caribbean countries more devastated by this Hurricane? And I think the earthquakes in Japan were probably worse as well. Not to mention the conflicts in Syria/Egypt/etc. I know it was a terrible disaster but there are people who have suffered and are suffering far worse.

Can we get some love for the USA disaster though? I mean damn what kind of fuick attitude is that to have?

With the exception of Alicia Keys, so far this has been a classic rock lovefest. guitar love music cloud9 Then again, only this type of lineup could be assembled on such short notice to get anyone to watch, let alone donate money. I'm sure they would have loved to have U2 up on stage, but once again this was short notice. But either Jay-Z or his wife Beyonce could have shown up for this. sigh

Then again, would all those Stones, Who, Pink Floyd, and Springsteen fans have shown any love for Justin Bieber or Taylor Swift had they participated in this concert? I think not. (Okay, maybe they would have tolerated Taylor Swift.)

typing

JAY is getting ripped all over the place for not being there, especially the night before he was at the Barclay Center watching the Knicks woop his NETS asses. I hate to say this, but i honestly there is a backward form of racism going on with Sandy, kind of undercover, and i feel that Jay and some look at this like alot of the homes lost were in areas where people had some money, but he apparently hasnt been into Staten Island lately, cause that is slowly becoming the "hood" in many areas cause of all the boroughs in NYC that is the cheapest to live in, Brooklyn actually is most expesnive. So im not sure this was the reasoning, but it looks bad when you and spike are chest pumping the night before and the next day you are a no show, its not like he has to warm up his band or something, just saying, im seeing and hearing this alot in circles of NYC.

There was a lot more devastation from Sandy than shown in the media, and a lot of communities were hit hard, but again not covered in the media. I don't think you can measure natural disasters when lives are lost, and many lose everything they own in a flash. Natural disasters, no matter where they take place, will not stop conflicts that have been going on throughout the rest of the world, prior to the disasters, nor should any devastation from a natural disaster be ignored or belittled because of where it took place.

Exactly there are people that still DONT HAVE POWER, yes thats right, here in America we cant lights running for people yet, Still alot of Subway lines are down, its gonna be 2 more months before the tunnel is reopened for numerous trains, this storm didnt get world stage, thats why people blew this off as nothing. Even the dude on channel 2 weather, i can remember at 5pm that day when it looked as if we dodged the bullet, HE SAID, NO when the hurricane hits land at 7:30pm and that runs into the High Tide it could be the worst case scenario, and honestly, if this was a category 2,3, or worse storm you would have had probably 100-200 thousand dead without fail.

that may be partially true but it also says more of the impact you have with your art, Kanye still is an idiot and alot of people dont like him, as Jay Leno said once people dislike you, its impossible to win them back. Hes talented but he should just use that talent. As for the "aging" rockers it always seems its them when money needs to be raised regardless, govt aint doing it, so the arts have too

And why is it that we are supposed to give to the rest of the world during a natural crisis but not to our own anymore... Should I bring up Hurricane Katrina... confused Nuff said.

Too bad Bruce's "City of Ruins" didn't translate to well to this concert--it was absolutely amazing at the Bruce & E-Street concert I went to a couple of weeks ago... cool

Kanye's "performance" was a joke!

Obviously, I'm not a fan but I can say in all honesty that he sucks big time. After watching all those wonderful musicians play and sing live and then he comes out looking like a total ass and sounding bloody awful. I can't for the life of me figure out why he's been so popular and why people buy his music and attend his concerts. He barely has an ounce of talent.

People love to put down the old time musicians and others like Alicia Keys, but IMO, these folks have musical talent and know how to go out and perform. I could barely stand to watch Kanye's performance the other night. It made me laugh, it was so bad.

It WAS very out of place. Im surprised they had him on there after his last 'telethon' rant.

I don't really think it was out of place. I enjoy seeing a mixture of artists and genre's of music. I enjoy some hip-hop, country etc, but he is just not talented IMO. He may come up with a few slick lyrics from time to time, but most of the time he sucks! He also has a terrible attitude and the fact that he's now banding that slut KK, makes me think even less of him. I'm glad I've never spent a cent on his music.

There's other hiphop artists that could have been here. Kanyes last 2 records of note has had a lot of lyrics promoting materialism to the hilt. This was a telethon of sorts for people in dire need.
