Shirly Brown- Woman to Woman

"Hello, may I speak to Barbara? Barbara, this is Shirley
You might not know who I am but the reason I am calling you is because
I was going through my old man's pockets this morning
And I just happened to find your name and number"

That's a family reunion all-time classic.

Watch out there now (J. Anthony Brown voice!)

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Great songs! I didn't know "From His Woman to You."

My favorite for this theme is Millie Jackson's Caught Up / Still Caught Up.

Great concept albums and she tells the story from both sides.

I can't seem to embed youtube anymore! sorry

It's amazing how these songs have stood the test of time. The topics in the songs are still relevant.
