Donna Summer FINALLY Makes It Into The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame

***Donna Summer Heading For The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame***

A statement from the late star's family reads:

"We are overjoyed the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame has recognized Donna's tremendous musical achievements. Its an honor we know she quietly hoped for and would very much cherish.
We are deeply grateful. The family cannot fully express the gratitude they feel for the outpouring of love received over the past few months in support of Donna's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. From fellow recording artists and industry executives to friends and fans from around the world, it will not be forgotten."

It think this is awesome, but my opinion of it is that they (the Hall) are feeling somewhat guilty about Donna's passing and how it relates to their continuous nomination/rejection of her induction. So, now, they put her in. I'm glad, nonetheless.

Got leaked early by accident but she's finally getting her just desserts regardless so that's all that matters. Congratulations Donna and RIP.

Donna's widower had posted about Tuesday being "bittersweet" regarding the induction so the Summer family already knew.

While they should have inducted her while she was still alive, better late than never.

ikr? but her induction was expected afterwards... it's their "sympathy vote". God forbid if anything happen to Niles, they'd do the same to him...

My sentiments, exactly, as mentioned in my original post. They feel some degree of guilt associated with their continuous nomination/rejection of her and its association with her passing. I'd feel less confident about her getting in if she were nominated again while she was still alive.

Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah, surely. lol

Anyway, it's nice to see but a bit of a feeble gesture. She was either perfectly worthy of admission many years ago, or not at all (I vote for the former).

Some people are never happy.

If they had've overlooked Donna, you'd be pissed. They induct her and you're still pissed. Many people have been dead for years before they're inducted.

Also, if you don't care about this whole RRHOF thing, then why are your knickers in a knot? Donna is in and that's what counts now.

Congrats to Donna!!

It appears as though Donna's family are thrilled, which is so nice.

Now I'm just hoping they do the same for Albert King and Rush!!

We all knew (or at least I did) that she’d get inducted immediately after her untimely Death. I’m happy for her Family, Fans and Friends because this is a Testament to her Career and the ICON that she will be remembered as. I didn’t like that her name was getting rolled over into the Pot year after year. I know Donna wasn’t the only Rocker getting rolled over but many got in with their first Nomination and I always Felt Donna Summer was too Legendary and Internationally known to be rolled over. I know some of you don’t want to talk about it because it was what it was but that doesn’t mean it was right.

The Entertainment Industry has to STOP waiting for Legends like Donna to get too old to accept the Lifetime Achievement awards in person or too Dead to rejoice in the Historical Honor..

I'm glad this happening, but I wish she was here to experience this. It's just pathetic they didn't induct her sooner shrug With some of the people they let in before her, it's just a joke. I would love to have known the reasoning as to why her name was skipped year afer year when she was alive...

Agree

Some people dont want to talk about it because they figured since she is going to be inducted it doesnt matter but I think its the principle involved here which is why the RHOF is not fair. She should have been inducted YEARS ago before alot of others. Like you said its the entertainement industry at large. We need more people who really care about this instead of always labeling people who express their critisicism of it complainers we have even alot here that do that.
