My wife and I were having a discussion yesterday about who are the true soulful singers of today..We were not talking about people who dance the whole time, use a lot of computerized music, or couldnt sing live. We've been noticing that there are not too many artists now who can fill in the shoes for Aretha, Curtis, donny, Stevie, Sly Stone,James Brown,Gladys, Marvin, Bobby,Isaac Hayes, and so many others!!!! Those artists made a great contribution to the world of Soul...they are truly pioneers.... Who can the Soul Torch be passed on to now? I say R. Kelly, Mary. J, Fantasia, Calvin Richardson, Anthony Hamilton,..after that, who else?

I must be tripping, how could I forget D angelo of all people but good list. I didnt think we had alot of soul of today but we do have a good handful after listing some.

The hell if I know. Beats the hell out of me honey. Jennifer Hudson has a great voice but she sings boring ass music though so you just can't win for losing.
