Never heard this before. Knew that it must have come from somewhere though LOL!

Really dope bassline.

By itself the bassline has the feeling of being quite dark and ominous, which is how I've always perceived it, but as the chords are introduced on top (which I'm hearing for the first time here), it sheds a whole new light as the feeling instantly becomes uplifting and bright.

Wow, music is continually surprising. Love it. Cheers for bringing that to my attention!

Music, sweet music, I wish I could caress and...kiss, kiss...

I agree. However I'd say he approved or signed off on samples that his team of producers created for him and his artists. He had a good ear for what was hot at the time, I'll give him that.

MadamGoodnight

nod New Birth had some cuts!

Kanye, Keyshia and Twista sampled New Birth's It's Impossible on their version of Impossible.

There have been some good posts about New Birth on the Org recently.

Puffy didn't touch that Junior MAFIA album! "Player's Anthem" was produced by DJ Clark Kent.

I liked how DJ Premier helped Jeru dis them by chopping the same New Birth sample.

And the Clark Kent remix version also samples Minnie Riperton's Memory Lane. That's the version I like!
