it won't work!
It's certainly a curious casting decision to use Mr Kravitz, who may be quite a good musical imitator of other artists
He also imo looks nothing like Marvin Gaye at any point in Marvin's life.
It would have been better if they'd cast a 'proper' actor who was a decent Marvin lookalike and who could sing a decent Marvin-style voice, kinda like Jamie Foxx did Ray Charles in the movie Ray. | |

Hollywood Bio's function on either or factors.
1. smoke Up Your sss bio's
2. heading down a one lane highway with a brick wall at the end.
If you want a 3 dimensional, fact based bio, I'd look elsewhere.
Don't get me started on picking no talent Kravitz to portray Marvin Gaye, what joke.

Who has even seen that cheap no acting movie?
The films Ive seen him in, his acting has been comical for the small screen and movies like Stomp The Yard. He is not equipped for a serious role such as this nor does he look like Marvin Gaye | |

these are a few of the acting in front of the camera columbus short has done. while he does not look like marvin gaye, imo i feel he could morph into a good characterization of marvin. but hey i guess because i think he's kinda fine, that fact might flavor my opinion. plus he's closer to looking like m.gaye that lenny k.

Oh lawd now...hold on. Now I for one personally love Columbus Short. No, he hasn't been in the greatest of movies to showcase his talent, however, I did enjoy him in "Cadillac Records" even though the movie sucked monkey balls. He's now currently on a great show called "Scandal" starring Kerry Washington that is absolutely on my "must see TV" list week after week.
As far as the role of Marvin, I just think the whole idea of doing a biopic of him should be shucked into the garbage. I'd rather have a great, in depth, documentary instead. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince. | |
