Puffy wasn't actually much of a producer. Chucky Thompson produced much of My Life and Tony Dofat, Pete Rock, Dave Hall and DeVante Swing of Jodeci did much of What's the 411. Maybe his credit was more executive producer than actual producer. It's like him taking credit for BIG's albums and Faith's albums when the Hitmen (which included Stevie J and Chucky) were behind those albums as well.
Yup. That's how I've always remembered it. Executive Producer credits but the actual producers/musicians did all the leg work. However during that period, he greenlit some great tracks for those artists. He was on a roll back then. Don't know what happened to his ears
And one more thing.... You mentioned Stevie J, is that the same Stevie J that's currently clowning on VH1's "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta"? |

Money and need of hearing aids. I don't know, it could be but I'm not sure since I don't watch that show. |
