this is when BET would honor singers/musicians for their craft..no im not talking about BET AWARDS Lifetime Acheivement..this was a special that would air every year and they have honored some of the best:

2004-Smokey Robinson

2003-Aretha Franklin

2002-Stevie Wonder

2001-Patti LaBelle

2000-Luther Vandross

1999-Diana Ross

after this, I'm clueless of how the order goes with these artists who recieved the star:

Whitney Houston

Michael Jackson

MJ received his first in 1995.

I forgot the last one. I'm guessing they just stopped.

Very weird. Those specials were excellent. Those were the last great moments for BET, before it just got ridiculously bad.

Because BET is no longer interested in artists with actual craft anymore. But, I think it would be a great idea for them to bring the show back on Centric. If I remember correctly, they were planning one for Chaka Khan when they decided to stop doing to series.

Centric has Walk of Fame celebrations? When was this?

I doubt Centric has them. I would've heard about it. They cancel the Walk of Fame and gave Chaka the Lifetime Achievement Award instead.

That's what I remember. Centric just plays re-runs of shows really and has piss poor specials. I miss BETJ for real.

They changed it to BET Honors.

I was always told that they phased out the Walk Of Fame thing to do the Lifetime Achievement award at the BET Awards but it never made sense because they do the BET Honors these days.

No I mean if they brought the show back, they should air it on Centric. Unless Beyonce, Rhianna or Nicki Manageri were going to be performing, I don't think there would be much of an audience for it on regular BET.

It's not. No one makes big buzz about it except when it debuted and Whitney was on it...

I don't think they'll get rid of BET Honors anytime soon , it's actually growing this year was the highest ratings yet , and they got Michelle Obama to present. It's one of their better award show imo
