The list felt so... just meh.

First off Bel Biv Divoe poison number 1? i get it.. it had that sound f early 90's R&B.

But does it really define 90's R&B like a Whitney, R. Kelly, TLC, Aaliyah, En Vogue, Brian Mcknight one?

And i get why they picked Bump N Grind & I Believe i Can Fly in the top 15... cause after Bump so many rip-off songs of that throughout the decade lol

When A Womans Fed Up or If I Could Turn Back The Hands Of Time is what i'd rather seen cool

Oh & i love Whitney... but as i said before if i don't hear I Will Always Love You for a few years.. that's ok lol

Thats a 90s track but its sounds late 80s and its to New Jack Swing. It probably should rank Top 20 of the best R&B tracks of the 90s but ranking it number one is to easy and to high.

meh, i mean it's a good jam but i personally wouldn't put it top 20... top 40 is good.

AND no Lauryn Hill dead or mack Morison.. ok maybe mack is a stretch lol

Some of the songs ala I Will Alway Love You, I Believe I Can Fly & This is How We Do It... are still overplayed today like they just came out lol

Poison out of all those songs listed, is the one that they can play at any party and people not look around like "IS this fool playing some old shit?"

Still jams to this very day.

Out of all those songs that is the one? idk about all dat lol

A lot of times it gets played i hear people laugh cause of how dated it sounds.

I tried to copy and paste the 40 songs here, but couldn't.I dvr it and skimmed through it.I probably like 5 of the 40 songs in total.Boys II Men motown feeling was my fave. But new jack swing wasn't my kind of music. The songs all sound the same.

God bless all those who grew up on this music and love it.smile

What would be 2000's top R&B songs? How would you characterize them? Would it be new stuff like

Miguel and Frank Ocean? Corporote slop like Jennifer Hudson.Does Beyonce and Alicia Keys define it?Is it popish sounds of Rihanna,Neyo and recent Usher stuff?

That 90s list is based on R&b sales and chart success.Pretty much all the music is strictly limited to new jack sound.Several had hip hop feel to it.

The 80s list would be fun.You had funk,R&B,electro.Maybe disco and hip hip squeeze in.
