Why So Many Re-Releases?

What is it with artists re-releasing albums like crazy confused

Nicki Minaj did pink firday, then a deluxe..

Then a sequel to pink friday & now a Re-Up of that...

Nearly every artists has a deluxe version out confused

plus people like Nick release a new song like every month...

Does this actually help album sales?, cause Katy Perry had all those number 1's & a re-release.. and her album is barely double platinum.

I just don't see the point in all these deluxew versions... do they actually help sales at all?

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

All music is shit music and no music is real- gunsnhalen

I think the labels are desperate to recover the money lost in making the original albums in the studio so they demand their artists put out newer and newer copies. The reason XL ain't discounted or re-released Adele's albums for instance is because they sell at a respected pace. Other labels lose more money when they deal with artists who have to mask their untalented portions with high scale music videos and concert tours that may go alright or awry.
