Bobbi Kristina Determined To Do Duet With Late Mom Whitney Houston?

Bobbi Kristina is determined to make her mark in the music industry and is planning on releasing a duet with her late mother Whitney Houston sometime next year. Bobbi K intends to lay down her own vocals over the track to her mom’s 1985 breakthrough hit, “Saving All My Love for You.”

Sources claim Bobbi K believes her mother’s fame can catapult her to stardom, but her immediate family is not having it! Auntie Pat and her grandma Cissy Houston believe she would be making a big mistake by attempting to use her mother’s fame as a shortcut to stardom.

They also feel that Bobbi K needs some vocal coaching to hone her skills as her voice is much huskier than her mother’s.

Bobbi Kristina and The Houston family have embarked on a journey of discovery in their new Lifetime reality show, The Houston’s On Our Own but they’ve also received a ton of negative criticism over the way the teen is being portrayed.

Throughout the 14 episode half-hour series, viewers are seeing the Houston Family as they come together to deal with the loss of Whitney and focus on Krissy, the 19 year-old daughter of Bobby Brown and Whitney, and the only heir to her mother’s estate.

This is truly a journey through the emotional spaces of a family that has been public for so many years.

Of course you already know that Bobbi K has heard (and/or read) what’s being said about her and her family and I’m almost positive she and her brother/boyfriend Nick Gordon, visit the blogs to read up about their antics.

In light of all the naysayers, Bobbi Kristina has issued a statement of sorts to address her critics.

What I've been able to take from that show of theirs is that:

damn, it's not easy to raise teenagers shake

Bobby K. is a headstrong young woman with a streak of rebellion now discovering young love, the freedom of seemingly endless money and easy access to substances; obviously she loves her family dearly and has a very, very close relationship with them, and part of you can't be mad at a kid that still says yes m'am to her auntie and granny and never holds back a hug or an I love you...but that child's hormones are raging like crazy as she's clearly sprung off of her first love (who's just as clueless about life as any boy his age would be), and the two of them are carrying on like they're on the set of Romeo & Juliet or Endless Love. She's using this all consuming puppy love with booze (and looks a little like pills) to deal with her mommy's death, and it's making her difficult to handle.

This is a very precarious situation for her guardians, because on one hand you have to let her grow up, but you want to make sure she doesn't go down the wrong path (which she's clearly a ready & willing candidate for the way things are going)- and yet, you can't say too much or discipline her too hard, because she might fly the coup and get out there into the world where there really are going to be a lot of yes people just salivating to do her real harm..'specially once that Houston inheritance kicks in. The one thing that seems to work well with this young woman, though, is having something constructive to do with her creativity. I see now how the Tyler Perry project was actually very good for her focus. But without any way to channel herself, everything always comes back to running away with her boyfriend, laying up with him and boozing herself into oblivion. She needs guidance..hope she gets the help she needs to let the substance crutches go, so she can get clear and really work on the future she's always said in the past that she dreamed of in entertainment. On top of that, poor thing is too young to realize first puppy loves come and go so she can't see anything beyond her Nick. But then I guess young girls are always like this the first time around. sigh
