Aaliyah

I'm just listening to Aaliyah's I Care 4 U cd.

I'm from the UK, where she was well known in the R'n'B scene but I always felt that apart from a few minor hits never got the recognition over here until her death.

Just how big do you think might she have been?

Anyone else miss Aaliyah? sad

RIP babe. x
Little? Yeah, right. It might be little but it's loud

Hmmm, yeah, that happens to a lot of them, can't say, how much really because MANY do have 'unrecognized' tracks, just got to explore for yourself...

I miss her dearly. She's still one of my favorite artists. She was one of the most beautiful people I've ever seen and it came through in so many ways. Her attitude. Her smile. Her feminine voice. Her moves. I just love everything about her. Going to her candlelight vigil in Detroit was a truly moving experience.

She was amazingly talented. I believe that she would have become an icon. Probably the equivelent to Aretha Franklin or Diana Ross. Her last album was the best of her work.

...and all good things they say never last.

There's really no telling how big she may have become, but since she was always getting feature film offers she had the potential to become bigger than just by way of music. Not that music alone can't take you through the stratosphere, but she was obviously sought after in the movie industry.

One thing I always liked about Aaliyah is that she didn't appear to put on any airs, or seemed to be "stuck up"...she had talent and beauty but she always seemed to always have humility.
This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

exactly. that's why i love her. so different to many other modern day r&b artists...and her music is more interesting to boot.
