After one debut album from each band, Timex Social Club AND Club Nouveau have never been able to have successful follow-up albums at all. This fellow orgers is the sad part of it all. | |

Tight jam. Their followup album wasn't as good but it still some nice songs on it and some with some messages. For the Love of Francis should have been a hit for the group. I liked A Better Way too. Don't laugh at my funk

No it's actually an answer record to Rumors. If i'm not mistaken Club Noveau's band leader Jay King was associated with the Timex Social Club in someway as a producer or a member.(can't quite remember) He left and formed Club Noveau whom had more success mainly off their debut album. Don't laugh at my funk

I bought the first three Club Nouveau albums. The first one is a masterpiece. The second one,Listen To The Message, was good too but I think it was filled with too many "message songs".It was a very serious album at a time when people just wanted to dance The third album Under A Nouveau Groove found them getting back to basics, but by that point,it seemed like their time was up.
Interestingly,I ran into the lead singer,Valerie Watson,at a nightclub in 1993.She's so sweet and tiny, lol.I got her autograph and she told me to keep an eye out for her solo album.I don't think she ever released it,though.

I have the first album and the 3rd album which i bought for 99 cents at a record store that was closing back in 1990. I have the 45 for Cold Cold World but don't have the second album. The third album was kind of new jacky on the first side. I dug the title cut Under a Nouveau Groove but wasnt crazy about it. I liked the first and second a lot better. Don't laugh at my funk
