Like a lot of orgers I tune into the adult contemporary radio station more than I do the Pop/Top 40 or Hip Hop/R&B station. No, I don't want a cookie for doing that.

Anyways, who do you guys think is the biggest AC artists out right now? Charlie Wilson gets a ton of spins in my area along with the O'Jays and Anthony Hamilton.

So I would go with Charlie Wilson, based off radio play alone.

I can't get into Jill's new song, I've tried but just don't like it.

But it's constanty being requested, so somebody must enjoy it lol.

I occassionally turn on the Adult Contemp station herein L.A & it's usually playing a lot of Jill Scott, Charlie Wilson & strangely enough a lot of R. Kelly's new stuff.

I don't about you guys... but every adult contemporary station i listen to NO MATTER where i go... always overplays Careless Whisper, A House Is Not A Home & anything by Lionel Richie, Billy Joel or Toni Braxton

They excessively play that annoying Kem song, Share My Life on the stations I occassionaly listen to and I know for a fact nobody is requesting that . I think adult comtemporary radio is just like the mainstream stations in the sense that Clear Channel or whatever higher power controls the stations also controls which artists gets played.

Jill Scott, Charlie, R. Kelly, Kem, Anothony Hamilton-occassionaly gets pretty good airplay. Although I do prefer those stations, I do wish they could be more versatile in the artists they show love.

I really stopped listening to that format a while ago because, for whatever reason, there seems to be a lot of sexism at urban adult radio. other than anita, sade and jill scott, i don't hear female artists getting anywhere near the airtime of their male counterparts. And sometimes I think Charlie Wilson has stock in some of these stations because they play one of his songs every half hour! the other week when I was traveling in my car and didn't have my CDs, I had on one of those stations. Within a 4 hour period, hardly no female artists being played and Charlie's songs were on repeat.
