I think I'd rather look at the big picture though. As far as I can remember he did mention MJ's influence later maybe in 2006/7 when he compared Justifed to MJ and Futuresex to Prince and Bowie - but that doesn't matter either. Basically only diehard Timberlake fans care who he says his musical influence are or what his personal favorite albums are, etc. No one with ears would associate Sinatra or Radiohead with 'Justified'. Whatever he may have said in interviews or however he feels about MJ as a person, it's hard to deny his entire music career reflects MJ's influence and legacy (I bet ppl who don't even like MJ know him as a MJ wannabe) and that can't possibly be a detrimental thing to MJ...

And I can tell you guys another thing. When I was a big N'Sync/Justin fan I just thought of MJ as an eccentric popstar and didn't care to really listen to his music (this is when I was like 12/13...) BUT even then I knew of him as this "legend" guy who was well respected in music industry. Justin and his 'Nsync friends did do the MJ introduction for RocknRoll hall of fame after all. And who can forget his OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S U <3 <3 <3 look on his face when he danced with MJ on VMA lol.

...Not that any of this should even matter when you listen to his music though.

Well of course none of this matters ( I agree with it though) it just shows that Justin is phooney and he only says things that is appropiate at the time to say. During the trial he dissed MJ. After the trial, he was passive/neutral and then once MJ passed he jumped on the band wagon. I dont really take anything he says seriously and he really showed his true colors with the whole Super Bowl incident.

He left Janet out to dry on her own and they were at the time friends.

I heard Bieber trying to sing "Cry Me A River" and it didn't even sound like the song, so I think Timberlake is aight.

Those type of "singers" have always been a staple of the music industry, they come and they go. I remember that skit on Saturday Night Live years ago speaking of AC Hammer, the new desk anchor advise him to, save his money. wink

This is the interview that I think he is the most honest on and it was years after the Superbowl incident and during FSLS era. People say stupid things that they later wish they could take back and he admits that in this interview. He also praises Prince and talks about how MJ and many other iconic artists greatly influenced him. He may have said negative things about many but these videos prove that he has nothing but respect for those who came before him. Like he said in the second video, interviews can be taken out of context and words can be misconstrued and misinterpreted. Personally, I take videotaped interviews more seriously than written interviews because written words can be more easily altered than spoken words that have been recorded on video. It's not unheard of for writers to exaggerate or misquote...has happened throughout history. At the end of the day, I see more people like Justin the artist than Justin the person and if his music is appreciated than I think that's really the most important thing in this discussion. I can't play those sad The interviews I saw with him snubbing his influences were all live TV interviews though. Nothing edited in them at all.

Bingo! Here it is stated perfectly by the interviewer...

"Listening to the CD with 6 people and they all said the P word - Prince!"

No shit! lol

He also dissed MJ during the molestation trial, again, something along the lines of not being associated with him. JT is a punk. And one that can't sing.

Sounds like what he did to Janet too. Running away at the slightest hint of controversy. I always viewed him as a PR puppet with no real opinions.

His singing voice is annoying, but I did like SexyBack.
