What Do You Guys & Gals Think of 808's & Heartbreaks?

At the time it was released a lot of people didn't like the album... mainly cause of the auto tune.

But it has definable had an impact in hip-hop, as not to long after it came out is when a lot of rappers started doing love songs & trying to briefly get sensitive lol

It took me a long time, but i think i can finally say i do like the album.

In fact there is few tracks i skip now, Lyrically it has some of Kanye's best work like Coldest Winter, Pinocchio Story etc.

And it has some hard hitting bass & drum beats! headbang

I think more people have warmed to the album since it's initial release....

What do you guys & gals think?

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

It's an album that he had to make, a part of his grieving process,(due to his mom's death a few month's before.) Although it not my favorite, I accept it.

I Agree, this seems more like a personal diary then an album... which is why i dig it.

Plus the Pinocchio Story freestyle is so emotional i love it, i heard supposedly Kanye was crying... kind of like when peeps say Prince was crying when he sang Free.. ut idk how true that is.

"Robo Cop" is one of Kanye's best songs imo.

Absolutely love that album. It's the only Kanye album I own actually.

I loved it from the time it came out. It actually got me into Kanye. I was going through a difficult and lonely time at work just then and the mood of this album resonated with me... funnily enough.

I loved it when it was released and thought it was so underrated. Robocop was instantly my favourite track.

Great album. Kanye's production and lyric skills really shine in it.

Idk.. i like dark kanye.

From this to My Beautiful, Dark, Twisted Fantasy era.

Knaye was pushing himself & really made what he needed to make, it's to bad his new collab album is razz

I am starting to find Graduation to be my least favorite Kanye album, although commercially it was his biggest.

It's also his most upbeat & he didn't have the dark personal side of thing's, or much of the social/political comment of his first 2 albums.

I think i really like 808's better then Graduation eek lol

Dark Kanye is the ish nod TBH I like 808 better than anything before it and only Fantasy is above it.
