More Reissue Talk.... 3 instead of making multiple posts on reissue news im just gonna do part three...
Edsel Records will reissue 2CD Deluxe Editions of both Fine Young Cannibals albums later this year, with a tentative release date scheduled for 29 October.
The band only ever released two studio albums and various compilations appeared in the decades that followed, including The Finest from 1996 which included a new recording, The Flame (released as a single). A 2CD version of this compilation included a bonus disc entitled The Rare and the Remixed which contained hard to find tracks such as the Cole Porter cover Love For Sale (from the Red Hot + Blue charity album) and yet more remixes.
Edsel are working with Steele and Cox on these reissues, so that bodes well. We can expect a large selection of remixes to be included in these 2CD sets along with a ‘mopping up’ exercise to ensure all other non-album studio recordings (such as The Flame) are included.

Dr Robert of ’80s pop favourites The Blow Monkeys, has revealed via twitter that the band’s first two albums – 1984′s Limping For A Generation and Animal Magic from 1986 – will be reissued by Cherry Red Records in November this year.
Both deluxe editions will include demos and unreleased tracks, and ‘the doctor’ himself revealed some titles of the unheard material, such as Soulboy in Slumber from the Limping For A Generation period, and Guess I Love Her Now from Animal Magic. Remixes and B-sides should help fill up what will almost certainly be 2CD releases.

I've never heard it neither. Click on the link. The samples are there. I think it's one of her better 70's albums. The only thing that I'm weary of is the samples are obviously from a vinyl record. I have emailed the label asking will the pressed CD be from the original master tapes? Waiting for them to respond. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

Available October 30th: THE MONKEES Justus (180 Gram CLEAR Audiophile Vinyl/Limited Editon/Gatefold Cover)In 1996, after a thirty year hiatus as a quartet, the original Monkees Davy Jones, Michael Nesmith, Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork went back to the studio and recorded what would ultimately be their final studio project, the Justus album. Noted for their return to the studio and touring around the legendary release, this final work also found The Monkees as the sole musicians, vocalists, writers and production team for all of the tracks assembled for the recording. The results truly showed one of the more organically produced albums ever from their superstar catalog of fine recordings.
Originally an idea spearheaded by Michael Nesmith, the Justus album was conceptual in nature almost mirroring the original idea behind their classic Headquarters album, which like Justus, showcased these four musical talents as a team and offered no single track to radio but instead a full musical album listening experience.
Opening up with a new take on Circle Sky, Michael Nesmith is on top of his game with this metal-like rocker originally from Head. Featuring a wall of loud guitars, retro lyrics and chorus, this classic track was performed at the reunion concerts around this album, and once again reemphasized the importance of the original quartet setting, making this a great intro track.
Davy Jones belts out one of his finest compositions with the uptempo groove of Oh, What A Night. The tune truly resonated with the fans back then and continues to be one of the more appreciated classics in his long list of time tested Monkees favorites.
Micky Dolenz and Davy Jones repeat the magic with their revisit of You And I from their Dolenz, Jones, Boyce & Hart era. Featuring a strong vocal performance by the duo and the stunning guitar work of both Monkees’ Peter Tork and Michael Nesmith, this track truly captures the innocence and the feel of their sixties sound, as it became a time tested track well into their final tour of 2011.
Much like their Instant Replay (Friday Music 113) album, Micky Dolenz contributes a good helping of original compositions to the Justus project. Either rockers like Dyin’ Of A BrokenHeart, the blues balladry of It’s My Life, or the Rolling Stones vibe of Regional Girl, the Justus album was a watershed for Dolenz’s writings and vocal prowess which truly makes this 1996 session a true winner.
Peter Tork was always one of the more intriguing writers and musicians of the band, and it is fitting that the more progressive sounds would derive from his pen with the classic I Believe You as well as his fine prog-rock track Run Away From Life featuring the powerful vocals of Davy Jones.
The late great Davy Jones gets the honor of closing out this wonderful album with his classic ballad It’s Not Too Late. With his stunning vocal and heartfelt lyrics , and the brilliant chorus from the his Monkees brethren, the song in itself is a fitting tribute to these four geniuses, as the legacy of this superstar band will forever stand the test of time.
Friday Music is once again very honored to announce the continuation of The Monkees Friday Music 180 Gram Audiophile Series with the first time vinyl album release of their 1996 masterwork Justus. Mastered by Joe Reagoso (The Monkees/Elvis Presley/Brian Wilson) from the original Rhino Records tapes at Friday Music Studios, this first time audiophile vinyl release is also for a very short time being offered in limited edition clear vinyl as well as a first time gatefold cover presentation.

The classic rock sounds of the legendary Ambrosia (David Pack, Burleigh Drummond, Joe Puerta and Christopher North) started their magical blend of rock, pop, jazz and classical back in the early seventies. This Southern Californian quartet had all the elements of being a success from day one thanks to the release of their self titled debut smash Ambrosia. Noted for the hypnotic rock ballad Holdin' On To Yesterday, the band took deeper paths into the prog-rock synthesis with the masterful Nice, Nice, Very Nice which was based on the writings of Kurt Vonnegut Jr.'s Cat's Cradle. These two hit recordings, along with progressive favorites like Mama Frog and Make Us All Aware made this a Grammy nominated popular album with both FM and AM radio listeners in 1975.
One year later, Ambrosia hit the radio and retail charts once again with their superlative second offering Somewhere I've Never Travelled. Produced by mega hit maker Alan Parsons (The Alan Parsons Project/The Beatles/Pink Floyd), this daring new album went further into the prog-rock arena and truly found their niche with outstanding tracks like Can't Let A Woman, We Need You Too, and the stellar title track Somewhere I've Never Travelled. With the amazing talents of these musical masters, along with their producer and engineer Alan Parsons, Ambrosia's first two albums truly made an impact on the music industry, which has enabled their popular brand of classic rock to excel now for over three decades.
Filled with a treasure trove of hits singles and deep album tracks, both of these incredible efforts have been out of print now for years... that is until now!
Relayer and Friday Music are pleased to announce Ambrosia's Ambrosia & Somewhere I've Never Travelled together in a deluxe two CD set. Mastered impeccably by Joe Reagoso from the original 20th Century Fox Records tapes, these amazing classics truly shine as you remember them. To enhance your limited edition compact disc experience, this first time deluxe two CD set also includes a 2012 interview with Ambrosia's Burleigh Drummond as well as hard to find artwork from both of the original 20th Century Fox albums.
Welcome back Ambrosia and their two classic debut albums Ambrosia and Somewhere I've Never Travelled... a prog-rock feast for your ears, only from your friends at Relayer and Friday Music. Nice, Nice, Very Nice!

Heart's Horizon was Al Jarreau's eleventh album in a much endured and highly successful discography for Warner Bros. As a superlative follow-up to his huge Moonlighting single and the L Is For Lover album (FRM 25477), Heart's Horizon continues the thematic approach of Al's take on universal love, which is clearly defined in the original twelve tracks that made up this project.
Featuring several key producers like jazz and R&B master George Duke as well as the return of hit maker Jay Graydon, Heart's Horizon stayed on the music charts for the better part of two years culminating with a top ten R&B album and a number one jazz album. Fueled by several hit singles, the album contained the chart topper So Good as well as All Of My Love and All Or Nothing At All. These Jarreau staples have kept this album top of mind with his U. S. and international audience for many years.
An Al Jarreau album is not complete without a who's who of friends collaborating with this American icon. As he stated recently, "A really fine group of artists and musicians were assembled for this album. It really had nice groove to it." For example, his good friend Bobby McFerrin lends his stellar voice to the delightful Yo Jean, Earl Klugh plays his legendary acoustic guitar to the masterful One Way, and producer Phillipe Saisse collaborates his keyboard wizardy with Al's vocal prowess on probably one of the more definitive songs on the album, 10K Hi.
Friday Music is honored once again to continue the Al Jarreau Remaster Series with his classic Heart's Horizon/The Deluxe Edition, impeccably remastered from the original Warner Bros. tapes by Joe Reagoso (Al Jarreau/George Benson/Patti Austin). For this special release, Al has gone back to the tape vaults and has found a treasure trove of bonus tracks like the super rare B-side One Shot, the club mix of All Of My Love and the long version of So Good. Plus we've included the original artwork elements as well as new liner notes to enhance your listening pleasure.
Al Jarreau... Heart's Horizon/The Deluxe Edition... Expanded and Remastered... exclusively from your friends at Friday Music. So Good!

The legendary soul king Percy Sledge began his career singing in Alabama in the 1960s and soon got the attention of producers Marlin Greene and Quin Ivy who in turn brought this fine gentleman of song to Atlantic Records. In record time, When A Man Loves A Woman burst into the soul charts and quickly hit number one. The classic love song crossed over to the top of the pop charts in 1966, making this one of the most important recordings ever in the journals of popular music. The artist himself has never stopped working thanks to this wonderful track, which has gone on to earn him multitudes of awards, accolades and a reputation of being one of the greatest soul singers of all time.
This amazing love song has been the subject of movies, television, as well as a bevy of interpretations by such artists as Art Garfunkel, Marvin Gaye and Michael Bolton. Its effect has been long lasting and will most likely be played, sung and loved hundreds of years from now.
More big hits followed for Percy Sledge as the record buyers and radio stations needed more soul infusion with smashes like Warm And Tender Love, Take Time To Know Her, Cover Me and others. His angelic voice is about as sad and soulful as it can get, and the tunes are just the perfect vehicle to showcase the wonderful talent of this great R&B crooner.
As a continuing exploration into the original greatest hits albums of the Warner Bros./Elektra/Atlantic Records vaults, Friday Music is so very honored to offer the wonderful soul sounds of Percy Sledge and his great The Best Of Percy Sledge album, for the first time on 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl.

Twice Shy (180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl)

The quintet, featuring the legendary hard rocking vocals of Jack Russell, guitar shredder Mark Kendall, multi-talented Michael Lardie on guitars/keys, solid bass fret work from Tony Montana and the powerful drumming of Audie Desbrow, truly became a fixture in 1989 with this heavy metal masterwork.

But the magic doesn't end there... how about more top chart action like the powerful The Angel Song or the hard rockin' masterpiece Mista Bone...
More hard rock anthems abound with Great White standards Hiway Nights, She Only and Heart The Hunter, truly making this one of the most fun and incredibly rockin' albums of the late eighties... Truly a masterwork never to be repeated again.

Shake You Down/25th Anniversary Edition
Ever so rarely, a multi-talented artist like Gregory Abbott comes along and creates a tour de force hit like Shake You Down, which will forever reign as one of the smoothest and hippest tunes of all time. Released in 1986, this important piece of ear candy drenched in classic soul, successfully bridged the blue-eyed platinum sound of Hall & Oates with the funk/groove of Marvin Gaye. The tune also netted a popular phrase at the time with its cool title and the catchy Rock You Down throw down in the chorus, making this an unforgettable journey both for the fans and for this superstar artist.
Propelled with the success of this massive popular song, Gregory Abbott's Shake You Down album raced all the way to the upper rungs of the urban, pop, adult contemporary and club music charts. Music videos also were getting spins as the title track and his amazing follow-up single I Got the Feeling (It's Over) forced his debut album for Columbia Records to become a dependable treasure trove of hits for music outlets all over the world.
More soulful and funk balladry abound as tracks like You're My Angel and Say You Will continue to thrill the listener, as well as the gospel feel of the amazing album closer I'll Find A Way, which truly displays the versatile talent of this award winning performer in a totally different musical setting.
Friday Music is very honored to be offering this amazing Gregory Abbott album once again as Shake You Down/The 25th Anniversary Edition. This special compact disc is now impeccably remastered from the original Columbia Records tapes and also features the hard to find bonus track 12" club mix of his number one hit single Shake You Down. We have also included some classic memorabilia from the archives as well as the original album artwork faithfully restored for the first time in compact disc form. Enjoy!

The Blow Monkeys reissues are comprehensive with remixes and B-sides from all the various single formats of the era including seven-inch double-packs, ten-inch vinyl and twelve-inch records.
Dr Robert has supplied sleeve notes and the original band demos are said to sound superb, despite being sourced largely from cassette. All commercially issued tracks are remastered from the original master tapes, and the eagle-eyed among may notice the inclusion of the ten-inch remix of Digging Your Scene (originally entitled Digging Your Remix) which only received its CD debut last year on the excellent Phil Harding Club Mixes of the ’80s compilation.
