songs about Adultery

By asking for information, does not mean I condone cheating on a spouse/partner/lover

But I was listening to some music the other day and noticed that a few of them (sung by men & women) were about cheating on a spouse, and I was just listening to George Duke and remembered one of his more popular songs (1 that I love) No Rhyme, No Reason (is about the same topic)

What songs that you know of/by what artist cover this topic?

George Duke:Snapshots 1992

Girl, just take some time
Let me try to find the words I wanna say to you
I been searchin' my mind
I got to find the reasons I feel the way I do
Let me emphasize that I recognize
What I should and should not do
And though I know it's wrong
Every now and then I phone
Just to talk to you

Sometimes love
Has no rhyme, and no reason
Even if we try to be cool
At the strangest times
Love can make a connection
If you trust your heart to choose

Sometimes you cross my mind
And I don't know why
But I hear from you
And though I want to stay close
I realize the most we'll ever be is good friends
I got kids at home
I can't leave them alone
This I'm telling you
I've got another life
Cause I still love my wife
Though I still want you

Sometimes love
Has no rhyme, and no reason
Even if we try to be cool
At the strangest times
Love can make a connection
If you trust your heart to choose
Even when you trust your heart

Sometimes love
Has no rhyme, and no reason
Even if we try to be cool
At the strangest times
Love can make a connection
If you trust your heart to choose

Sometimes love
Has no rhyme, and no reason
Even if we try to be cool
At the strangest times
Love can make a connection
If you trust your heart to choose

Whitney Houston- Saving All My Love For You Lyrics

lol it wasn't until she died, that I listened to some of these songs more closely and realized this song was one of them too

Saving All My Love For You lyrics
Songwriters: Goffin, Gerry; Masser, Michael;

A few stolen moments is all that we share
You've got your family, and they need you there
Though I've tried to resist, being last on your list
But no other man's gonna do

So I'm saving all my love for you

It's not very easy, living all alone
My friends try and tell me, find a man of my own
But each time I try, I just break down and cry
'Cause I'd rather be home feeling blue

So I'm saving all my love for you

You used to tell me we'd run away together
Love gives you the right to be free
You said, "Be patient, just wait a little longer"
But that's just an old fantasy

I've got to get ready, just a few minutes more
Gonna get that old feeling when you walk through that door
'Cause tonight is the night, for feeling alright
We'll be making love the whole night through

So I'm saving all my love
Yes I'm saving all my love
Yes I'm saving all my love for you

No other woman
Is gonna love you more
'Cause tonight is the night, that I'm feeling alright
We'll be making love the whole night through

So I'm saving all my love
Yeah, I'm saving all my lovin'
Yes, I'm saving all my love for you
For you, for you

Sorry I know I'm late
Guess I lost all track of time
Started walking and couldn't stop
Turning it over in my mind
Trying to make some sense of it
Trying to make the pieces fit
I thought I covered my tracks so well
But now he says he knew about it from the start
Yeah he knew about us all along, , ,

If there was any other way love
Don't you think I've tried to find it
Don't you think I want to stay
If there was any other way love
There's no way out of this
There just ain't any other way, , ,

Maybe I'd better be leaving now
But there's something I want you to understand before I go
Sometimes we don't have a choice when we play and break the rules
I just had to see you darlin', one more time
If only just to say good-bye
'Cos he knew about us all the time

If there was any other way love
Don't you think I've tried to find it
Don't you think I want to stay
If there was any other way love
There's no way out of this
There just ain't any other way, , ,

I never wanted it to be like this
I never meant to get serious
But now the thought of losing you
Takes some getting used to

If there was any other way love
Don't you think I've tried to find it
Don't you think I want to stay
If there was any other way love
There's no way out of this
There just ain't any other way, , ,

If there was any other way love
Don't you think I've tried to find it
Don't you think I want to stay
If there was any other way love

Who Is He and What Is He to You - (Bill Withers, Stanley McKenny) 11:45 "Who Is He (And What Is He to You)?" Withers, Stanley McKenny 3:13

Me'shell Ndegeocello covered it on her 2nd album

Cover of Peace Beyond Passion

A man we passed just tried to stare me down
And when I looked at you you looked at the ground
I don't know who he is but I think that you do

Dag gummit
Who is he and what is he to you

Something in my heart and in your eyes
Tells me he's not someone just passin' by
And when you cleared your throat was that your cue

Dag gummit
Who is he and what is he to you

Now when I add the sum of you and me
I get confused and I keep coming up with three
You're too much for one but not enough for two

Dag gummit
Who is he and what is he to you

Now you think I'm one not much for intuition
Lord is that what you really think or are you wishin'
Before you wreck your old home be certain of the new

SIMON & GARFUNKEL LYRICS

"Mrs. Robinson"

And here's to you, Mrs. Robinson,
Jesus loves you more than you will know.
God bless you, please Mrs. Robinson.
Heaven holds a place for those who pray,
Hey, hey, hey

We'd like to know a little bit about your for our files
We'd like to help you learn to help yourself.
Look around you all you see are sympathetic eyes,
Stroll around the grounds until you feel at home.

And here's to you, Mrs. Robinson,
Jesus loves you more than you will know.
God bless you, please, Mrs. Robinson.
Heaven holds a place for those who pray,
Hey, hey, hey

Hide in the hiding place where no one ever goes.
Put it in your pantry with your cupcakes.
It's a little secret just the Robinsons' affair.
Most of all you've got to hide it from the kids.

Koo-koo-ka-choo, Mrs. Robinson,
Jesus loves you more than you will know.
God bless you, please, Mrs. Robinson.
Heaven holds a place for those who pray,
Hey, hey, hey

Sitting on a sofa on a Sunday afternoon.
Going to the candidate's debate.
Laugh about it, shout about it
When you've got to choose
Every way you look at this you lose.

Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio,
Our nation turns it's lonely eyes to you.
What's that you say, Mrs. Robinson.
Jotting Joe has left and gone away,
Hey hey hey.

First of all, there's a jingle out for Ashley Madison that is freaking AWESOME. The words are all about how a guy is out on the road, trying to make money for his family, and doesn't have anyone to talk to. So he fools around on his wife! Then he says - AND I AM NOT KIDDING - that he's doing that for his family!

I wish I could find it, or the lyrics. I looked last week and couldn't find it, but it's the jingle they're playing on Ashley Madison commercials now on XM radio.

So until then, here's an oldie but a goodie:

5 AM Is The Hour
And we just took a shower
Once again I'm heading home,
But I'm satisfied (um) to the bone
Like so many times before
You had me beggin' for more
Now I'm, running home to her
When it's you I prefer

She's got papers on me
She's got papers on me

And I'm getting tired of sneaking In
Lying 'bout
Where I've been
How long can this go on
Pretending to love someone who just don't turn me on
And every time I taste your sweet, sweet lips
I make up my mind to abandon ship
But man oh man she's cramping my style
I look in her face and see your sweet smile (well)

She's got papers
On me
She's got papers
On me

She's got papers
On me
She's got papers
on me
Ohh, Sometimes I wonder

What is she gettin' out of this
You're takin' every little bit

You're gettin' all my love and then some
Leaving her
Just the crumbs

And like it is
And
Like it was
Doesn't she know it's you that I love
Girl you're more than just some broad I whine and dine
You're the sweet little thing
The sweet little thing
The sweet little thing
That's always on my mind

Always on my mind

Girl you're always
Always
Always
Always Are on my mind

But she's got big papers on me
And she
Won't set me free
I never should have kept that date
But I found out about you too late
What am I goin' do about that baby

Ohh yeah, yeah, baby.

Betty Wright singin'

Well, well, well
what have we here
I know you thought I was all the way on my job by now
But I forgot my sweater
And on my way back
I started to thinking
He's sure been acting strange lately
And what is this I here when I walk up to my bathroom door
You' singing about some other women
Let me tell you something Mr. Look So Good
From now on
This house is where you used to live
My, My, My
Don't we look pretty in that suit my money bought

You'd better come on down stairs and have a seat.
But don't you get too comfortable now
'cause you won't be here that long
Now I'm not sure
I'm not exactly sure about what you're doing
But I know you're doing something
I gave you the best years of my life
Trying to be a good mother and a good wife
I made you what you are
You hear me
I paid the house note
I put you through school
I paid for that pretty car you' driving your woman or women 'round in
Now If I can't be number one
I WILL NOT be number two
Unless I wanna be
And right now I'm in no mood to be number two

That's right I got papers on you.
And you do understand my dear
That you must pay me to be free
That's what I said
You're going to pay me for my years and my tears
And all my wasted years
And I know being with me hurts you
And mean you don't dig me anymore
But I'm hurting too
And you can tell that dizzy broad
You know the one you're singing 'bout
The Miss sweet little thing that's always on your mind
That I'm not letting you out of this unless you buy me out
I'm not going through no more hard times or bad times
'Cause I can do bad all by myself
All by myself

Yeah, I got papers on you
But now
I'm throwing them in the
Trash can of my memories
Now take your little albums and your little raggedy component set that Never work and you can scat.
You hear me
Humm
Just used my life up
Used my body up
Used all my time up
I don't know what to say about you

this is one of my favorites songs, but i don't know if this song counts. From the lyrics it seems to me that he thinks about committing adultery. he never actually does it. He has a conscious. It seems as if he only talks to the other woman. Now "me and Mrs Jones" you know they got a thang going on.

Wow you can learn something new from this site. I had no idea Bill Withers recorded this song first. I remember when I was a kid during the Disco era this song covered by another artist. I remember there was a long intro before you heard the first verse and definitely uptempo. Does anyone here remember?

Songs about adultery...hmmm is it me or the songs seems to be under the r&b category maybe Im wrong. lol

Would "OPP" by Naughty by Nature fit under this category? Or does the couple have to be married?

Whitney Houston's 'Its Not Right but Its Ok' is a song about cheating. What about 'Cry Me A River' by Justin Timberlake.
