October 8, 2012 Photo: fb
Depeche Mode has something very special to tell us. The band has just said they will be making an “exciting announcement” during a live press conference with members Dave Gahan, Martin Gore and Andy Fletcher.
The announcement is likely to be about the band’s next studio album, which they have been working on for most of the year.
The press conference will take place in Paris at 1:30 p.m. local time -- 7:30 p.m. ET -- on October 23.
To watch all the action, fans will need to visit Depeche Mode’s official website shortly before the broadcast begins in order to find out where to tune in.

I love it when some of these bands from the past decades still feel the need to announce things in a press conference instead of just informing about things on the Internet.
I'm not hatin', I'm just statin'.

Press conferences have a way of creating the kind of enthusiasm that your average internet announcement can't, especially if the artist takes several questions about a new project, tour, etc. | |

Depeche Mode Planning New Album, Tour Dates October 22, 2012
Depeche Mode will return with a new album in spring 2013, the band revealed on Monday.
The group, which will hold a press conference in Paris on Tuesday, will also hit the round in May, kicking off three months of European dates.
A tour of North America will follow.
The band's Dave Gahan told Billboard in May that the band had an abundance of songs.
"Martin's been very prolific, written some great songs," he said, in addition to Gahan's own contributions. "I'm excited about where this one's going; I think it's going to be a more direct record, a punchier record," he said at the time. That's all I can say at this point; with Depeche Mode, anything can change through the course of making a record."
The band's last effort, 2009's Sounds of the Universe, peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. The new set will be Depeche Mode's 13th studio album.
See the group's European tour dates below:
05-07 Tel Aviv, Israel - Hayarkon Park
06-01 Munich, Germany - Olympic Stadium
