Almost brought me to tears! Very sincere and lovely tribute from India and you could tell Brandy was touched.
I really agree with everything India had to say about Brandy. Its really really sad how underrated Brandy is. She has a really strong catalogue of R&B classics and really had a unqiue style with the braids and baggy look (although alot of girls in the 90s had that look) Its refreshing to her another artist give her props instead of the usual. I really wish the industry would tribute her and recognize her for just being a veteran and being consistent with her music.

India said everything that I've always wanted to say to Brandy. Her voice is just IT for me. I will always be a fan.

Damn, that was a perfect tribute. It's so nice to hear India Arie say the real things about the craft and the artistry and not focus on all that other stuff we use to measure someone's impact (like I was doing on the "is she an icon?" thread). Brandy is awesome. I also like how India Arie picked out a real catalog track to show how unique her talent is.
Big fan of Brandy but that new project does not move me at all. Not even a little.
"You..and you....you just old. That's what are, you just old."
I kinda like the new project. I don't skip songs when listening to it, so it definitely holds my attention. I think Brandy is one of those acts where her music grows on me and I tend to like the music better the more I listen to it.

If you can listen to Miguel than you can listen to Brandy
I admit its probably not HER best work but its a hell of lot better than the songs playing on the radio... she probably should not have released that song featuring CB first.

that was PERFECT for the first single. It got everyone talking, and she got a chance to show that she can still deliver an uptempo performance.

Im going to be honest when I FIRST heard the single I did not it like but I'll admit it has really grown on me and I like it now although its still not one of her best songs ( I still wish CB was not on it ). I think maybe if she released a more R&B ballad first single some people would not be as apprehensive about the overall C.D.
But thats neither here or there.... the single was a success and she has been getting alot of good reviews. I am REALLY happy for her, she deserves it.

Brandy is highly underrated imo. I'm really happy with that video. I have no idea why she gets the hate that she gets. I see people on here talking shit about her.
