Lil' Kim's La Bella Mafia.... Well well well, Lil Kimmy Kim dropped that bomb dig out yesterday...
Almost a revival of the street rap that she strongly conveyed 2 Hardcore (thanx 2 SOME not all help from Biggie), La Bella Mafia sees Lil' Kim in a stage of maybe some new found happiness, a marrige??? (Frank White whoever this may be), and still no hopes for a reconcile with former friend Foxy Brown (in an interlude, a male asks to give her lyrics and she responds, "Give that shit 2 Foxy!!!") The album begins with little snippets of Biggies voice, couldve been mixed a little better...but then keeps a fresh back 2 ol skoo "Hold It Now" with Beastie Boys' "Paul Revere" taken 4 the second time. I didnt know weather 2 give points up or points down for the title "Cant Fuck With W / Queen B". It heatures FUUL FORCE. Mad credits for that, but I cant get the smaples from Dinese Williams' "Free" away. The former make believe 'lil shanice' appears again in "Shake Ya Bum Bum" and sounds alot more bold this time. Although her rhyme is not s great as her debut on the classic "Aunt Dot" she still holds it down. Other highlights include the headbangin "Can U Hear Me Now" f/ a couple lines from Missy. Most intersting of all is "Final Warning" where Kim takes R. Kelly's "A Woman's Threat" and truns it in2 her own vibe. And still manages 2 hav Kelly maintain the songs credit. And the little Oh oh oh oh oh is hilarious! Musically it is fresh, she tried everything, and it worked. Nothing sounds too old. Lyrically she is on her game, now only if she can find something 2 really talk about it probably would be a solified groundbreaking album. But it still possesses an individuality 2 it, which is alot 4 her. ur thoughts? Straight Jacket Funk Affair

ive only heard the 1st single the jump off so far but if what u say holds true then i will check out the rest of the new album... by the way the source no longer counts credible 4 ratin albums but thats just my humble opinion... if u want the real deal on hip hop from all sides check out vibe or xxl  | |
