I know a lot about Michael (though sometimes I doubt that something about him I know for sure ), but Jackson 5 still has a lot of unknown for me. And this is really a cartoon was shown on the popular channels in the past and was popular? I read something about this cartoon in the biographies of MJ, but I never saw before. cute!
A little history. This cartoon was actually the first cartoon to feature black characters as it debuted a year before Fat Albert & the Cosby Kids. Fat Albert did have a one time special in 1969 that was the basis for the series.
Hate to correct you, but the first cartoon to feature all black characters were "The Harlem Globetrotters", then the J5, then Fat Albert

I have heard of it,and seen clips of the shows on other J5 related videos, but I never actually saw it when it was being shown on TV either.

There might be clearance problems with that. They probably would have to get permission from any guest stars or whoever is in charge of their image if deceased. There are also copyright issues for the songs performed. That's why songs are removed from TV shows when released to DVD, they ask for too much money. I have a videocassette The Best Of Eddie Murphy on SNL. I think it came out in the 1980's or early 1990s. One skit features Beatles songs, but when it was released on DVD years later, the same skit is on there, but the songs are cut. The skit doesn't really make as much sense with the songs removed. There's not many variety shows by anyone on DVD. The ones that are just have a few episodes like Donnie & Marie. Something like Ed Sullivan has more mainstream performers and is not just one act, so has a higher potential for sales to counteract any costs that have to be paid out. Even that doesn't have the entire episodes for each season, but maybe a DVD with the entire episodes with a specific act like The Beatles, Elvis, or Motown acts. Most of them are just compilations of musical acts or comedians.
The 5th Beatle! "I Want To Hold Your Hand...Man" "Love Me Do...Man"
Back on topic: They may do one of those "best of" the show like they've done with Donny and Marie and Captain and Tenille. I would be happy with that.

Oh yeah, I remembered those skits. "Paul still use Afro Sheen because of me" Remember that one?
