Stevie Wonder is the latest star to put his talents to work for President Obama.

The famed singer released a new song he wrote specifically for Obama, called "Keep Moving Forward" on Friday, which highlights the president's record on foreign policy, healthcare and education.

Sounds like an outtake from Jungle Fever sad I applaud his effort and purpose though. Totally agree with the message.

To me, it sounds a little Bollywoodish.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

If anyone still wants to say something stupid about Prince making crappy music this days. Now what is this? New Prince music sounds incredible compared to this. And I love alot of Stevies tracks. This sounds like the South Park dudes are making fun of a new Stevie Track that had some bollywood influence to it.

I don't know why, but mediocre Wonder is still more tolerable than Prince's crappy "RNR Affair", which has zero redeeming qualities.

It sounds like... a demo? Like something he didn't even record in a studio.

Yeah, I agree that it's better than Prince's new single.

A political promo statement that could have been written by a PR spin doctor?!!! C'mon, Stevie! Damn!

This is South Park material for sure. I mean, he is blind, but it sounds like he is reading a high school political speech at the same time as he is singing it. It wouldn't even sound like Stevie if it wasn't for the unmistakable distinct sound of his voice. Also like somebody else said, it sounds like a demo. Would he even approve of something corny as this ever being released?

I think we were wrong about Bollywood. Seems alot more Balkan or similar Eastern Europe music to me.

True, it has a balkan vibe. But Balkanic music has been greatly influenced by Middle-Eastern music (to the extent of that type of stuff being considered pop and folk music there).

I totally agree, I can't stand RNR Affair and even if this song is crappy in Stevies standards - it's more tolerable. At least this is more interesting than RNR.

It does have a balkan vibe and also gypsy romanian type of sound.

I listened to this song several times. I like it, because even if it sounds like something Stevie throw together quickly it also sounds like he was into it himself. At least it's not another mawkish power ballad as these type of songs often are.

Stevie Wonder - Keep Moving Forward Lyrics

26 Oct

Stevie Wonder – Keep Moving Forward Lyrics

Here we are, it’s a brand new day
Four years ago the skys were a darker gray
Troops coming home, we’re ending the wars
It’s time for peace, cause that’s who we are
Jobs for all that succeed in their task
And health care for the middle class
The common man deserves a chance
Barack’s the one who will take a stance,

So, keep moving forward, don’t turn around
Keep moving forward, we can’t turn back now
Keep moving forward, don’t turn it around
Keep moving forward, don’t let them bring us down
Down, down
Don’t bring us down, down, down, down

Here we are with hope intact
The records clear, so check the facts
We’re moving on, we’re out of Iraq
Detroit was saved, and so were the banks
Talking education energy
College for all, and a world more green
Lets keep the faith, so all can succeed
Man, woman and child, every nationality

Keep moving forward, don’t turn around
Keep moving forward, we can not turn back now
Keep moving forward, don’t turn it around
Keep moving forward, they can not take us down
Keep moving forward, don’t turn it around
Keep moving forward, we can not turn back now
Keep moving forward, don’t turn it around
Keep moving forward, don’t let them bring you down
Keep moving forward, we can’t turn around
Keep moving forward,
We can’t afford to go backwards now
Keep moving forward, don’t turn back now
Barack’s the man, don’t let them bring us down

I’m fired up, and ready to go
I’m fired up, and ready to go
We’re fired up, America’s ready to go
Keep moving forward, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Keeṗ moving forward,
Keep moving forward,
Keep moving forward,

[Lyrics to Keep Moving Forward by Stevie Wonder]

This is not the first time Stevie has been involved in poiltics. He wrote a big hit song for Martin Luther Kings Holiday to be approved. "Happy BirthdayTo U" and that song is played at every birthday celebration across the world.Plus what is wrong with him supporting & writing a song for a candidate he supports..rolleyes
