Chaka Khan - "Who's It Gonna Be"

This is a jam. From the underrated Destiny album

Overproduced as hell, and thats just how I like it LOL.

Fun track, but "It's you" is programmed synth heaven....

Pure filler, and sounds like something from "flight of the navigator". Can't get much more mid 80's then this....

My second favorite cut from "Destiny" (next to "So Close"). Yeah, it was very much over-produced. I always wished her vocals were more clear because I can barely make out some of the lyrics. But, her vocal performance here is fantastic!music

I always loved the Scritti Politti-produced "Love of a Lifetime" from this album, which was the first single. "So Close", "Who's It Gonna Be" and "Tight Fit" are my other faves. I remember first hearing "So Close" when she performed it at the beginning of that episode of "Hunter" that she guest starred in.

I just went to Youtube to watch that scene, and when I got to it, lo and behold they put the generic music behind it! A travesty!

I tried so hard, but I could never get into this album lol It all sounds over-produced and formulaic.Too many damn synthesizers and programmed drums! Chaka is one of the grestest singers ever, but she does much better in a more soulful, funkier setting.I was never all that crazy about I Feel For You,either.

1981's What Cha Gonna Do For Me is her best album, imo.

Not the best quality, but here is the "missing" scene from the original airing of "Hunter".
