The Spaghetti Incident

I consider myself a pretty huge GNR fan but never owned this album. I'm finally thinking of checking this out since i'm burnt out on their other albums. I know this one got mixed reviews. What did you guys think of it?? Worth checking out??

The album is highly underratewd.. it is not the artistic album UYI is... but some GNR fans really seem to hate this album...

It's a fun covers album, And GNR sky rocket through 12 covers of classic rock & punk songs... and u get to see Axl attempting a british accent on down on the farm lol

It's a fun album that get's a lot of shit(i Guess cause it's not an album of original songs?)

Give it a shot cool

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

Great album and yes, very underrated.

Human Being is my favourite. I just love a good piano romp!

I ended up downloading it and listened to it once so far and I actually like it more than I thought I would, since it gets trashed so much. I actually liked it so far more than UYI. I just would prefer to have an album of a sold 10-12 tracks. UYI has some great moments but it's too cluttered for me.

Yeah, Axl's accent on Down on the farm is interesting. Who sang the original?

Also great is their versions of Black Leather and Buick Makane.

other than the two Duff songs (New Rose, Arms Around a Memory), the excellent Ain't It Fun and the "final" number I Don't Care Bout U (F*ck U) (let's just ignore the hidden Manson track), the album was a sad joke, like a parody of themselves and rock in general

this is when both Axl Rose and Slash lost it, in my opinion

Since I don't have you, Buick Makane, Aint it fun & Hair of the dog are my faves so far. I don't understand why people hate this album so much. It aint Appetite but it's not too shabby either.

As joe said the album is honesttly... a bit of a joke. Even in the linear notes i recall the band saying do yourselfs a favor & listen to the original lol

Oh yes:P this is Axl we are talking about lol

He also put the song on there without letting the band or producer know, he also did the same for My World on UYI2

Well, obviously after the juggernaut that was the UYI albums and tour, it was a huge letdown for all of us, that the next album would be a covers album. Back then we all thought that there would be a new GNR album, but sadly it wasn't to be, so that taints the memory of TSI quite a bit. It really was the end. That said, I think Down on the farm, Ain't it fun and Black leather were pretty cool.

The album was released during a period when films and tv-series about serial killers were all the rage (even Bowie made a concept album about a serial killer). So I don't think the Manson song being there was that huge a deal.

"Look At Your Game Girl" is a decent song in any case (which is not what you can say about most of Manson's attempts at songwriting).

I Agree, i actually was curious & listened to the album of songs he made. Some where decent... and most where hippy sounding love songs lol

Which makes it more eerie for what came after...

I remember in the 90s a lot of artists started covering Manson songs. Some how it became trendy. confused
