Yes, we probably would've had new material released sooner. But, this is good because unlike others who have passed, original material is not being sold immediately after. Hopefully, her daugther is being mentored properly both personally and professionally. Unlike Bobbi Kris.

I saw a clip of a BET red carpet interview with Teena's daughter and Rick's son. Wow, not only did Rick's son look like him but had these crazy motions and expressions just like his dad!

We have been blessed with a large catalogue of her music to revisit.

I will be getting this release and i love the new song from Teena Marie...I have all of her stuff except Passion Play & Wild & Peaceful. I have Passion Play on cassette but not CD and the reissue of Wild & Peaceful is really expensive!!!!

Amazon was selling the reissued version of Wild & Peaceful on CD several months ago. Now it looks like it's available through private seller. But at least you can download to MP3.

It will probably become available again soon.

It sounds bland and just "there" for the sake of releasing something. Definitely not something I would buy but then again, I wasn't expecting it to be a jam either.

I'm happy with my vinyl. Actually, I prefer the vinyl. "Wild and Peaceful" is definitely my favorite album of hers and actually the only one where I love each and every single track on it. It's got that Stone City Band sound all over it.

THANKS!! I never heard that version. I like the Rare Tee CD as well.

Greatest Love of All Time is one of my favorites on the expanded edition.

Love Lady Tee & miss her so much...She taught me how to sing.But I'm not totally sold on this first single yet.But its good to hear something new by her.Finally somebodies legacy being handled well..

I think I would agree with you for most re-releases. But from what I can tell the re-release of Wild and Peaceful was good work. It was the first re-mastering of the album. It had cuts that were unreleased prior. It had new artwork and historical narratives, as well as some photography that were completely new. I wish I had bought it at the time, but as I remember I was thinking "this is not worth the money." (Those shit Motown compilations on Teena that seem to come out on the regular are what clouded the waters for me.) And now I am wishing I didn't have to Youtube the version of ELBH with Rick everytime I want to listen to it. I guess I will have to enter the MP3 age. Tryin not to kick and scream. But to apply a quote from Rick to the W&P re-release situation - "Let's listen to that, I think that sounded pretty good."
