No its nothing like that, im saying that artists especially coming out now, though they even embrace the media they dont know how to use it, which is sad because its their generation not his, why has a 63 year old, on an indie label know more than a current artist about how to market today? that is sad, that shows where things went wrong.

Huh? Can you give me a specific example of the bolded part? 99.9% of today's mainstream artists have a twitter account, official website, Facebook page, vevo etc. etc. and they stay totally connected with their fans. Especially once they're signed with a major label they get to have the best PR people around them so they know how to promote their work, how to turn themselves into a brand...I mean what more do current artists need to know about marketing?

As for PRINCE he doesnt have to do this nor would he, i just feel he has spent a career "dangling" the carrot and not letting shit just come out. He doesnt like YouTube, ok then release a dvd with all the videos that have been bootlegged for years, combat it. Same thing with his music,

.....of course this is the point of this thread-like all the other threads in P:M&M smile

the saddest thing i heard PRINCE say recently was about older music he has, he said "someone will release it, long after im gone" that to me is sad because the fans that are here now, might not even see that, so i understand his issues with everything and i understand his views and respect them to an extent.

Well technically that's not what he said. The exact words he used were "one day someone will release them, I don't know that I'll get to release them..." The only certain thing we can tell from that interview is that Prince doesn't have set plans for what's in his vault at.the.moment. He just happens to be too busy making new music and focusing on helping other newer artists develop - like he has been for a while.
