Huh? Can you give me a specific example of the bolded part? 99.9% of today's mainstream artists have a twitter account, official website, Facebook page, vevo etc. etc. and they stay totally connected with their fans. Especially once they're signed with a major label they get to have the best PR people around them so they know how to promote their work, how to turn themselves into a brand...I mean what more do current artists need to know about marketing?

Well technically that's not what he said. The exact words he used were "one day someone will release them, I don't know that I'll get to release them..." The only certain thing we can tell from that interview is that Prince doesn't have set plans for what's in his vault at.the.moment. He just happens to be too busy making new music and focusing on helping other newer artists develop - like he has been for a while. | |
