I don't know what the hell Soca music is but if you're comparing the sound of rock music before Nirvana to the sound of rock music after Nirvana, I definately hear their influence in it and it is definitely for the worst. It went from sounding fun to sounding depressing from the sound of the music, even down to the sound of the voices which sound like they're in pain with hemorroids up their ass. Even the "look" of rock artists changed after Nirvana. They started looking too "normal". Everybody started looking so "straight". 1980s rock was definitely much better. Hell, the 1980s in general back when men were women and women were whores.

Nice one VainAndy! You are so right! It's true that Nirvana had a massive impact on rock music. Ialso think Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam did too. A lot of bands still continue you to 'imitate' his vocal stylings. Nickelback are a prime example of that. I also hated how "normal"everyone started dressing. They looked like they just rolled out of bed and then hit the stage. Bring back Diamond Dave! |

Oh, I agree that the more feminine looking male image absolutely ruined the porn industry but for music, it was wonderful! However, it was still easy to find a manly looking man back then because most average men on the street back then didn't have the guts to be anything other than a manly looking man. If I had been out of the closet back then, I would have been having a field day! Andy is a four letter word. |

I suppose that those 80's bands were also very hairy, despite the makeup and dye. |

Oh Lord yes! Just look at the "Panama" video with David Lee Roth in a towel. It gets me to dripping every time I see it. Andy is a four letter word. |
