He did Fast Girls&another track on that Album that escapes my Brain now.She Hooked up with Jam&Lewis through Her Manager John Mcclain.Mcclain Arranged for them to get together.Janet almost got dropped by A&M when She was putting together Her third Album that Became "CONTROL".Mcclain Set Her up with Jam&Lewis&as they say the rest was History.oh really? I had always heard that it was through Jesse because she was talking about how she was hanging out in Minneapolis meeting his friends and how great and cool everyone was.. never heard mention of the manager..this was back in 1984 when I heard this from a guy named Seanny Rude. We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color. Maya Angelou

You know the Prince copied Jesse, or Jesse copied prince shit?
Well, I was in the car today and something struck me. Is it still going on? Jesse records Vibe. About 6 months later, Prince records Wasted Kisses... Go play vibe and tell the tune in the verses ain't the same! Prince is still rippin him off! [This message was edited Thu Mar 6 15:15:46 PST 2003 by SquirrelMeat] .

I also dug the work he did for Tamarra and the Seen and Kool Skool later on. JJ was/is a damn good song writer/producer and doesn't get enough credit for that IMO
FREE WORLD was the jam back in the day... Jesse was one of the fore-fathers of the Mpls sound. The Prince.org Photo Album http://www.purplehouse.nl...ery/Jacqui

let me add my respect for Jesse..
A SUPERB guitarist who can rock hard or get funky with it..! I can only scratch my head & wonder why he's not better known (as a "solo artist") "Can you help me" "FREE WORLD" & "Be your man" are my 3 favorites from his solo stuff. I also dig a lot of his work with Ta Mara & the Seen, mainly the beautiful but funky "Affection" "Long Cold Nights" (I think that's the title) & very Minneaplis Sound-ing "Summertime Love" VERY SOON I'm going to track down & get his '96 release on cd "Bare My Naked Soul" (?) "cut 'em, Jesse!" I'll see you tonight..
