muse...not convinced .. have listened to some of the new album...parts of it i like...have listened to most of their back catalogue ..again..liking some of their music but finding most of it either not that good or over the top ...i think that they give the impression that they are a band to be reckoned with without having any real substance behind it...i dont know...as i said..i do like some of their music but in no way do i think they are an important band...i wouldnt compare them to radiohead or some other bands who have made their mark in the last 15 years or so....whatcha think of them ?

i like the new album. that and black holes are my faves. i think they are doing what i'd have expected radiohead to have done instead of the bleepy shit they did after OKC. i saw them at meadowbank a day after seeing radiohead there and whilst i'm a long time radiohead fan, i'd have to say muse put on a better show, although radiohead had beck as support and he was probably best of all

love beck...although the one gig i saw of his in glasgow was a bit of a disapointment...

i've seen him a few times and each time was excellent. i saw him at gig on the green in glasgow and at the end he tied up all the band members with police tape on stage
i also saw his solo accoustic show, where he covered raspberry beret and erotic city. he also did cry me a river by justin timberlake in the style of a haunted house movie soundtrack (like dun dun dun dun dunnnnnnnn.... on the piano like scooby doo)
when he did edinburgh last time he went to the streets of edinburgh with puppets like the band and went to the kilt shop in prince's street to get kilts fitted and went up to the castle and filmed it all and showed it on the screens during a break in the show. then they came on and did a song whilst the band were sitting at a kitchen table using plates and pots and spoons etc for the percussion

I don't think I have ever heard a Muse song but this bit amused me. I am also disappointed with the post OK Computer Radiohead. I recently picked up the reissues of their first three albums and am loving them. Too bad they stopped making that kind of music.

the new album is ok, it's quite nice. 'madness' is my fav tho, since it's a bit less dramatic.
i don't know, whenever i put this album on i just keep waiting to hear freddy mercury and queen go "FLASH!! AHAAAAAAAA"
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I've always thought Muse was the pop alternative to Radiohead. But their new single totally reminds me of U2's numb - which makes sense, cuz that's when U2 was trying to be like Radiohead lol.

yes..thats what i hear and it sounds just way over the top...freddie could get away with it but it just sounds false when muse do it...they are interesting but ultimately...i dont think they have it..
