The first CD I bought, 2 days before getting my first CD player in 1990, was:

...I couldn't wait to get it. And after the second listen I had to go out and get another one and got:

And those were the only CD's I had for weeks, if not months. The first year I didn't really buy that many CDs. That only really started once I started earning my own money sometime in the latter half of '91 and really in '92. I did get a bunch of CDs though when I was on holiday in the US in 1991:

as there they where about 40 % cheaper than in Austria (and yet americans were complaining about how expensive they were). I remember those funny carton boxes they had around their CDs.


And considering this is a Prince site I also have to mention, the first Prince CD I also bought sometime in 1990, I think. It got it from a friend and it was
