Linda is part Mexican, German, English, and of Dutch descent.

She has earned eleven Grammy Awards, two Academy of Country Music awards, an Emmy Award, an ALMA Award, numerous United States and internationally certified gold, platinum and multiplatinum albums, in addition to Tony Award and Golden Globe nominations.
The Top 20 hit "Different Drum," which was written by Michael Nesmith of The Monkees.

Linda Ronstadt's Her paternal grandfather was Lloyd Groff Copeman, one of America's prominent prolific patent making inventors. He invented an early form of the toaster, many refrigerator devices, the grease gun, the first electric stove, and an early form of the microwave oven. His flexible rubber ice cube tray earned him millions of dollars in royalties.

Ronstadt's autobiography, Heart Like A Wheel, is scheduled to be released in 2013.
